It was intimidating at first, meeting Markus and everyone at Jericho, knowing she was constantly under immense scrutiny from all of the members. But she found that she perfectly fit in with everyone. Turns out that she was a very much needed voice of reason and wisdom for Markus and the others on the best course of action to take. She had the experience and the knowledge and she became a valued asset to the leadership of Jericho. More importantly, she became a friend, especially to North who never knew she subconsciously sought the companionship of someone who was prepared to speak about other things than the revolution. Yes, it was important but at the same time, it so happened to be exhausting and stressful. Katya discarded her far too formal clothes for army trousers, combat boots and an oversized button shirt that replaced the deliberately tight one. She only kept her tank top underneath the shirt.
More and more androids had begun pouring into Jericho, each one seeking refuge and comfort. Katya had heard many stories from different androids. Her and North had become the morale amongst Jericho, greeting newcomers, tending to the injured, doing anything possible to boost up the morale that would result in a less hopeless atmosphere in Jericho.
It was even more surprising to see a familiar AX400 and the little girl who had come with a much larger android who almost seemed to be their guardian. Katya was understandably hesitant to go to them, remembering all that had happened when they were chased, remembering how determined Connor was to get them and remembering his first sign of deviancy. Sacrificing his mission to save her life. She had explained everything to them and promised that she would look after them, asking for forgiveness which Kara easily and quickly gave.
Katya spent an increasing amount of time with them, making sure that they were safe. Although their plan was to stay there for a few days until its safer to cross the border, Katya was still set on helping them as much as they could.
She found herself sitting by the fire with Kara and Alice, Luther having perched himself atop a box next to them, reading a story from a book that was on the ship. Although it was quite a heavy read, Alice expressed interest in it until she became sleepy and her head began to droop onto Kara's shoulder who just smiled at her.
"Kat?" North's voice carried her apparently the new name that seemed to stick with everyone at Jericho. She stops reading to look up at North.
"I need to speak to you." She says glancing towards Alice. Katya nods and sets down the book, getting up. "Kat?" Alice's sleepy voice interrupts her. "Will you come back to finish the story?" She mumbles out. Katya could only smile. "Yes of course. I'll be back in a bit." She says before leaving with North who led her to a rather desolate corner, away from the low bustle of the androids.
"What is it?" She asks noticing now that it looked as if North had something behind her back. North seems slightly hesitant before replying. "I found something. I was looking through the books on the ship and found this." She says bringing out a book from behind her back. Katya takes the book into her hands, her finger tracing its red leather bound spine. In gold letters, the book read Theory of Chaos: Second Rendition. Underneath the title, smaller gold letters followed, Ekaterina Petrova.
