Zuko's POV

It had been a few days since Y/N had been on the ship and already I had grown used to her being here. She would always have dinner in my room because she didn't want to have lunch with the crew, not that I could blame her, being the only girl on the ship. I always made sure it was myself or Uncle to bring her food. Sometimes I would stay with her, and though there wasn't much talking I was starting to enjoy being in her company, sometimes we did talk... like we were now.

"Sparky?"
"Hmm?" I looked up from my plate as she called me by the usual nickname she had given me back when we first met.
"I was asking if we were any closer to my brother... or if you knew where you were going"
"Oh... Well it is hard to keep track of you guys since you're always jumping from place to place"
I heard Y/N chuckle as she pushed her food around the plate. "Yeah, I guess that's true, but you always seem to find us none the less."
I smiled to myself after making sure Y/N wasn't looking, and then went back to eating.

I thought back to mine and Y/N's conversation. I knew she missed her brother.

"Y/N seems to always be stuck in your room Prince Zuko, you should ask her to come out and get some fresh air"

I looked at Uncle as he spoke before looking back out to the sea. " She could easily escape Uncle."
"If the young girl wanted to escape she would have done so already Prince Zuko, she is a water bender out at sea. Besides, where would she go? She is in the middle of nowhere"
I let out a sigh before turning to Uncle "I am afraid she won't enjoy my company, we never really talk"
"That is because you are afraid to talk to her. Go and invite her to come outside, it will be good for both of you."

It took a while but I somehow built up the courage to ask Y/N out onto the upper deck. Of course, we were just standing there, watching the waves. I couldn't help but notice how peaceful she looked. As if this was where she belonged. At sea. It was as if she could feel the waves crashing against the ship, or feel every movement and ripple they made.

It had been a few days since Y/N and I spoke, but because I never knew what to say I usually just left her to read one of the books that we had on the ship. Though today was different, she joined me out on deck though she was still reading, it was nice that she was starting to become comfortable to walk around the ship. I'm just surprised that it always seems to be with me.

"There is a storm coming. A big one"
You're out of your mind Uncle, there isn't a cloud in sight."
"There is a storm approaching from the north Zuko, I suggest we alter our course to the south-west."

I looked at uncle hesitantly. I heard that the Avatar was heading North recently, but with Y/N being outside I didn't want to upset her by mentioning her brother, let alone trying to capture him again. I walked over to Uncle before speaking in a more quieter voice.
"We know the Avatar is travelling northward, so we will do the same."
"Prince Zuko, please, think of the safety of the crew!"
"The crew's safety doesn't matter! Capturing the Avatar is more important than any individual on this ship!"
"Prince Zuko!"

I looked back to my Uncles direction before realising what I had said. That's when I noticed that Y/N was no longer with us. She must have run back inside. I couldn't help but frown before walking back inside myself.

I walked back to my room to try and calm my anger but found myself doing the opposite when I noticed my room was empty. Seems I'm so used to Y/N being in here when I walk in. Maybe she overheard the conversation and ran off. Damn it Zuko, why do you always have to be so stupid! Things were going so well!
