The last thing that Remus Lupin saw in the mortal world was his wife, Tonks, looking at him with an expression of the upmost despair. Even though Remus knew that he was fighting for a better world, he couldn't help feeling sad because he wouldn't see his wife again. At least, not for a long time.
The first thing that Remus Lupin saw in the after life was James Potter, a fellow marauder, rugby-tackling him to the ground whilst shouting, "MOONY!" over and over again.
"Hiya, Prongsie, could you possibly let me get up?"
"Oh, yeah, sure thing Moony!"
"It's been so long James, 14 years!"
"I know Remus. Wait I know two people who would like to see you! PADFOOT, LILY-FLOWER!" Shouted James
"What's up Pro- MOONY!" Exclaimed Sirius who then proceeded to engulf Remus in a bone-crushing hug.
"Remus!" Lily shouted, ecstatic to see one of her best friends.
"How's Harry?"
"Pretty good - oh wait no!"
"What's wrong Remy?" Asked James
"What's happened to Harry?" Asked Sirius
"I think that he's ok but I don't know! I died in the middle of a war!" Remus groaned, covering his eyes with his hands.
"Not another war!"
"Wait, what's that on your finger, Remus?" Lily questioned
"Is that what I think it is..."
"YOU GOT MARRIED?!" Shouted Sirius, to who this was shocking news because the last time he had seen Remus was two years ago and he wasn't romantically involved with anyone then.
Remus only nodded and grinned sheepishly.
"When? Who to? What was the ceremony like? C'mon Moons I want DETAILS!" Shouted Sirius!
"It was a bit less than a year ago and it was a very small..."
But Remus was cut off by Sirius' shouting
"Nymphadora why on earth are you here?"
"Don't call me Nymphadora!' Tonks shouted her bubblegum-pink hair turning fire-red. "And, there is a war going on, as a member of the order I fought, and given that I was slightly distracted watching Remus die I didn't see my dear aunt Bellatrix shouting the killing curse at me." Tonks continued, saying the latter part of the sentence slightly sarcastically.
"Sorry, I don't mean to interrupt but who is this?" Asked Lily.
"Ah so sorry James, Lily this is my only nice cousin Nymphadora Tonks... who hates her first name and prefers to be referred to by her last name only. She is also a metamorphmagus as you can tell by hair changing abilities."
Sirius, on completing his sentence was slightly confuse as to why Remus and Tonks were attempting to hide their giggles of laughter.
"What?" He asked trying to determine what was so funny.
"Well you see my dear cousin..."
"... there is a slight problem with Tonks being referred to by her last name..."
"...because I changed it..."
"No!" Sirius gasped, realisation dawning upon him.
"Yes!" Giggled Tonks
"To what?" Sirius enquired
"To Lupin" Remus finished.
