** Fluff's P.O.V **

Leaves crunched underneath Cross' soft footsteps as he walked around the garden of the castle. Nightmare was out today, patroling the border. Cross wanted to go with him but he wasn't allowed to be out in the border unless he was given easement by Nightmare but he didn't. However, that didn't stop Cross from being a rebel. He climbed over the garden wall with vines as support. Although he was very light in weight but he couldn't really carry himself over a tall garden wall.

As he reached the top, he slowly slid down with the vines that out grew to the other side of the garden wall. “Sorry, Nighty. But I'm so bored. And you can't keep me in the castle forever either.” Cross mumbled softly as he set out to find anything that can entertain him.

The terrain itself is what Nightmare described, old, cold, chilly, a little foggy, burnt trees everywhere, no little life at all. Cross thought It had beauty in its own ways, he didn't mind if it looked like this.

He kept walking, enjoying the calming and soothing walk. He heard rustling in the bushes nearby. He didn't think much of it until he realized, there aren't really that much animals here. So he approached the bush, thinking it was a lost animal, he pushed the bushes apart and there it was.

A smol little doggo laying on the ground, shivering from the cold, it was very malnourished and dirty. Cross awed at the sight. He noticed that there were wounds on the smol doggo's body. It looked like it was abused and he was having none of that. He carefully took off his scarf and slowly approached the doggo. The doggo let out cries and whimpers.

“Shh, it's okay. I won't hurt you.”

The doggo's cries and whimpers immediately died down upon hearing his soft and soothing voice. He carefully wrapped his scarf around the doggo and slowly lifted him up.

It didn't have a collar and it didn't have an owner either. So he was happy to be the doggo's owner. He happily brought the doggo to the castle, this time, he went through the entrance of the castle. The guards gave him a confused look, they didn't even notice the fact that the King of Nightmare's spouse disappeared and escaped without them noticing.

Once Cross came inside their shared room, the guards immediately informed Nightmare in his patrol. He wasn't happy about that. Cross went down the basement to get the first aid kit and hurried back to his shared room with Nightmare. He placed the doggo on their bed, so the doggo could be comfortable.

He didn't know the gender of the doggo so he asked Horror, who was lying on the couch sleeping with a jar of cookies wrapped around his arm. He said it was girl. Just as he knew the gender, he named her Y/n. (A/n: I couldn't think of any names right now, so why not call her Y/n?)

Y/n was snuggled up in Cross scarf after a nice warm bath, he cleans and patches up her wounds and give a small little kiss to make it better. He even gave her food to eat and water to drink, Y/n was content, finally being able to feel warmth, affection and love yet Cross was happy to give it to her.

Just as Nightmare arrived home, he teleported to his shared room with Cross to find that he was snuggling with a dog. He could feel jealousy rise up inside him. He didn't want to share Cross with anyone especially to an animal.

He let out a low growl which had woken up the two from their slumber. “Nightmare? O-oh, I c-can explain.” Cross stuttered. Forgetting that the guards informed him about bringing a stray dog to the castle.

“You better.” he said, bitterness and jealousy laced his voice.

“Whoa, calm down, are you really that jealous?” Cross asked, giggling lightly.

“Yes. Very.” Nightmare admitted, Cross laughed at that.

“Well, I was really bored so I went to the garden to suffice the boredom but I couldn't. I wanted to go with you but I wasn't allowed to go to the border and patrol with you so I decided to be a rebel and not listen to you and went over the border. WAYYY Out of the border because I was mad you didn't let me go with you. I walked around, all that stuff, I heard rustling in the bushes, you know how you told me that there isn't really a form of life out there right? Turns out there was a dog just laying there, almost lifeless. It really made me sad so I took her home with me and took her a bath, clean up her wounds and gave her food. It was the least thing I could do to help her. And plus, she looks so adorable, I'm gonna die, and I didn't know she would be this fluffy. I'm dyinggg.”

Nightmare was face palming the whole time. He knew he couldn't stop this because Cross was already like this. And he liked it that way,

And he isn't sharing Cross with her.

Not ever.
