Warm rays of sunlight caressed her body, easing the girl from her slumber. Her lashes fluttered open, revealing a pair of mint green eyes. With a small wince, she sat up to rub her pounding temples.

She leapt to her feet and did a 360, desperately trying to grasp anything familiar in her surroundings. Yet nothing had the slightest ounce of familiarity.

She didn't even remember her name.

The longer she looked around, the more she was intrigued. Why didn't she have any memories? Did she do this to herself?

Perhaps she wanted to forget something. A small huff of breath surfaced from her cherry lips.  She decided to get a better look at what she was dealing with, so she traveled forward to climb one of the many trees that surrounded her.

Once she made it to the highest branch, her eyes widened in awe. The trees and grassy hills were magnificent, and the sky was a charming blue with large puffy white clouds. She was neither hot nor cold and the occasional breeze that wafted through the air made sure of that. Maybe she was dead.

Was this heaven?

But that is when she saw it- all around her stood the tallest set of cement walls she had seen. No, this was not by choice. It was now clear to her that she was being held captive. Immediately, she lowered herself, and a deep sigh pooled from her lips. Not only was she disappointed but her head was starting to pound so much that she was starting to become overwhelmingly drowsy.

That was when she caught sight of a small abandoned tree house. She decided to stay there for now. It wasn't an easy walk because her dizziness was progressively worsening. Her body urged her to pass out but she couldn't let that happen, in fear of enduring more memory loss.

Finally, she had reached her destination and it didn't take long before she was fast asleep. But her slumber lasted a brief ten minutes as multiple voices now filled her ears. Once she noticed it was male voices, she flung to her feet.

"Hey! Whoever that is up there-stop sleeping on the job, shank!" A voice called. What was he talking about?"

"...Shank?" she whispered to herself.

"That is the most ridiculous insult I've heard in my life!" She blurted out. A small laugh followed her sentence and then multiple whispers were heard. She stood up to get a better view of who she was talking to and spotted three guys. One was a blonde and the other two had dark hair. They seemed to be close in age but none of that mattered until she knew they could be trusted.

"Is that...?" the blonde wrinkled his brow in confusion, but then swatted the air, dismissing himself. "No way."

"What?" the others turned to him. He craned his neck to get a better view inside the tree-house, and then the girl scurried out of sight.

"Just... it kinda sounds..."

"Like a girl?" the other two finished in unison.

Caution filled her being. Why did this matter? From their tone, she was unsure if they meant harm. They were either genuinely surprised or ready to make her their prey. She prayed it was the first.
