I came to a little while later, laying beside Mia, in front of the boat. I crawled over to her.

"Mia? Mia, wake up!" I said, placing a hand on her shoulder. She came around soon, and we stood up. We went towards the boat, looking for Ethan. We found him, unconscious on the ground. Mia tried to wake him.

"Ethan? Ethan!" That's when a bunch of the black substance from the Baker house came and pulled him away, Mia screaming for him.

"Mia, don't worry, we'll get him back!" I said. She looked at me and nodded.

"Thank you. What was your name again?" She asked, as we began walking into the wrecked boat.

"Carter Kennedy." I said. She nodded.

"How did you end up at the Bakers?" She asked. I sighed.

"I was asked to go in for a recon mission by the new PMC Umbrella three years ago. I was reluctant to do so because I had a one year old little girl at home, but I did anyway. I wish I never had. Jack caught me in the basement, and that's how I ended up here." I said. She placed a hand on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry Carter. I would tell you how I ended up here, but I...I don't remember." She said. I smiled a little.

"That's okay, don't push yourself. Amnesia is hard to get rid of." I said. We kept walking, and as we did, I could tell Mia was getting some sporadic memories back. We came to a second staircase, when a little girl appeared in front of us.

"Are you remembering?" She asked Mia. Wait, I recognized that voice! It was the same voice that had told Ethan and I to stay away when we went to get the D-Series arm in the old house!

"Who are you?" Mia asked. The girl laughed and disappeared. She was a figment of our imaginations. We kept going, soon coming to yet another staircase that led to the upper area of the first floor of the ship. The girl was there again, addressing Mia, and ignoring me.

"You said we could be a family!" The little girl said. Mia looked confused.

"What are you talking about?" Mia asked.

"You SAID!" The girl ran away!

"Wait!" Mia called, as she and I ran up the stairs.

"I'm tired of waiting!" She said, shutting the door. The door was then covered in the black substance, and I couldn't force it open. I saw a spot for a fuse. I handed Mia my hand gun.

"Wait here. I'm going to go see if I can find a fuse." I said.

"Alright." She agreed, and I walked off. I came to a set of double doors a few feet away from the door we needed to go through, and I opened them. I saw a fuse on the other side of the room! I ran in and grabbed it, as one of the black monsters fell out of the ceiling! I ran out quickly, closing the door behind me, as I had learned long ago that these things couldn't open doors. I put the fuse in, and she and I climbed the stairs to the third floor. We came into a control area, and the girl was sitting in a chair. She turned to us when we walked in.

"Watch it!" She said. I looked and saw an old VHS tape sitting on the table by a TV.

"What? Why?" Mia asked.

"You need to remember! So we can be a family!" She said. I went over and put the tape in, Mia coming to stand beside me. The tape showed her and a man named Allen on this ship, talking about something getting out of containment. Once Mia walked out the door, as the man was sick and dying, she said:

"Okay Evie. Where are you?" I was confused. Who was Evie? She came to a conference area, and after getting inside the kitchen area, that black substance was everywhere! She contacted the man. "Allen, she's vomiting! Far more in excess of her body mass!"

"Well that's great, we'll be seeing more of her ugly friends then! You need to find her, this is getting out of hand."

"Agreed!" And she continued on. We then saw a little girl run into an elevator. It was the little girl sitting in the chair behind us! Mia followed her to the basement, and after coming to a dead end, the little girl spoke.

"Are you mad at me, Mommy?"

"No Evie, I'm not mad...wait...what did you call me?"

"I don't wanna live at that lab anymore! I want a house! And I want you to be my mommy!"

"Okay, Evie, I'll be your mommy, just come back with me now, okay? Where are you, Evie?!" Mia panicked, seeing the girl, Evie I guess, close the door. She followed, but she was already gone. Then, an alarm started blaring. Mia came back to the elevator and saw Evie inside it, as the door closed. She went up to the third floor. Mia got in and pressed the button for the third floor, but the elevator stopped working at the second. Mia got out, then climbed up the stairs to get there. Once she got up to the third floor, her partner, Allen, was kneeling on the ground. "How did you get here?!"

"Did you find her?"

"I did, but she's out of control! Without the treatments, she's deteriorating!" They both stood then.

"She trusts you. That little -----, she never-" He cut himself off. "Evie, no, Evie, I didn't mean to call you that!"

"Allen! Allen, she's taking control, you have to FIGHT her!" Mia placed her hands on his shoulders, but he shoved her to the ground.

"No, don't touch me!" And with that, the poor man died. Evie came into Mia's eyesight then and covered her in the black substance. Mia came to later, and made a video on a laptop for Ethan, then headed through another door. The black substance spread over the wall, and another poor soul died when Evie showed up.

"We'll be together...forever..." Then, the storm outside broke open the windows and threw Mia into the water! The video ended, and we walked back over to Evie.

"Do you remember now?" She asked.

"Yes, Eveline. I remember." Mia responded.

"Can we be a family, like we were before?" She asked.

"No Evie. We can't be a family. We weren't a family, we will never BE a FAMILY!" Mia spat, angrily.

"Then I don't need you anymore!" Evie said, before jumping at us, laughing, and disappearing. I looked at Mia.

"Mia, what's going on? Who is that little girl?" I asked. She sighed.

"She was codenamed Eveline. She's a bio-organic weapon developed by a group called The Connections long ago. She can secrete mold, that black substance, and infect people, then take control of their minds. I was supposed to transport her to a new facility three years ago, but, as you can see, that didn't happen." She said. My eyes widened.

Eveline was the bioweapon I had been sent in to gather intel about three years ago!
