(Starting Point: Mess Hall)
Your POV
Armin Arlert, why do you make me feel this way, I ask myself. I take a seat at an empty table, where I would sit at. I do not have any friends, or at least anyone I would consider close enough to one. My only friends, Mina and Thomas, died in the titan invasion at Trost. Yes, I devastated over that, especially because those two were the only ones that knew of my interest in the intelligent blonde.
It has been 3 weeks since that happen, and at times, I still get sad over it. Though, it doesn't affect me as much as it use to. However, now that I am alone, I have to go back to keeping my emotions to myself. My mother/father, if she/he were here, would scold me and try to encourage me to make new friends. But at this point, I don't even try to make friends with anyone. Seeing as they might as well get taken away from me like Thomas and Mina did.
I notice the great difference in noise level from when I first came and till now. Seems like the Mess Hall filled up pretty quick. I decide that I should get my food before it crowds up even more. As I got up to grab my plate, I bump into someone along the way. I mutter an apology as I went a few feet around whoever that may be. I grab my plate quickly before retreating back to my table. Great job on not being noticed, y/n, I thought sarcastically as I take small pieces of my bread and eats it.
While eating, I glanced up to where Armin is sitting. I see him smile while speaking to two others. Mikasa and Eren, I think were their names.
I took a few more bites of my bread and continue to stalk the beautiful angel that I crush on. I saw his blue orbs starring off in my direction for a millisecond. Suddenly I see his eyes dilate, making it feel as if we were making eye contact. Eren quickly followed his gaze, which landed on me for a second before I looked at the table next to theirs. Afterward, I gazed down at my lap. Well then, strike two, l/n! Strike two. Now they'll think I'm a freak. I sighed out loud and turned my attention to the bowl of soup that I have yet to touch. As I pick up my spoon, I feel someone's presence beside me. I gaze over to the side, just enough to see a girl with brown, slightly red hair in a ponytail. I see that no one else aside from the two of us sat at that table. I look at her again, seeing how she gave a pleading look, and turn back at my food.
"Hey, are you going to eat the rest of that?" She asked while pointed to the bread that I half ate, (probably even less than half).
For the first time in 3 weeks, someone decides to talk to me. "Why do you ask me of all people?" I answer.
"Oh, I don't know." She pause. I look up and see a sly grin growing on her face. "You seemed distracted looking at something, or rather someone."
I feel a rush of blood pressure flow to my face. "W-who's there to look at?" Dang it! I stuttered, again!
"To be honest, you make it quite obvious," she commented.
I look at her in disbelief then exclaimed, "What? I do not!" I feel my hand making my way to my hair as I grabbed a handful of it on each, tugging slightly at it.
"Are you sure about that?" She kept questioning. "Your eyes lit up in some way. You even blush when you seem deep in thoughts."
I finally muttered, "just- shut up and take the bread."
She gladly snatch the bread from my plate and quickly gobbled it down. She remained seated next to me. Confused, I ask her, "Aren't you going to go back to your table?"
She looked over at me and smiled. "Well, you didn't say to go back to my table. And besides, you seem like you could use company."
I froze after she finished talking. Use company, I phrased what she said in my mind.
