I woke up and the morning went the same as it did yesterday. Got up, went to the gym, y'all know the routine. Except for today, I was shadowing Hailey from marketing. I was there at my usual 7:30, thinking she started at 8 like Josh but that was far from the case. She comes in at 10:00...must be fucking nice. I decided to take a walk to Starbucks. I mean it couldn't be that far, Jamie used to walk there and back almost every day. I made the short walk and it was crowded as a bitch in there. I had time to spare so I just stood in the line waiting. I made it to the front and placed my order. I picked up something for Brian as well just to be a great best friend. While I was waiting I noticed this girl looked impatient. She kept looking at her watch and then back at the baristas. "Jas! Rodger!" one called out. The girl snatched up her drink and whips around bumping into the man spilling her coffee on herself and on the floor. "Shit," she looked defeated and ran a hand through her curls. Everyone just watched her scrambling to clean up the coffee on the ground and didn't help her. I was raised better than that so I went and grabbed some napkins. "Here let me help," I said and she looked up. "Thanks so much," I didn't notice before but she was fine as fuck.
"Again thanks so much for the help" she smiled. "My kids are going to be asking about my clothes," she looked at her watch. "Eh, I'm already late. They'll live," she laughed. "Here take my sweater. I'm sure it'll hide it," I said taking off my hoodie. I'm glad I left my blazer in the office. "Thanks, you're a lifesaver, Jazmin," she put it on and zipped it up before sticking out her hand. "Kayla, hey let me get you another drink," I said and it seemed that she actually saw me for real this time as I shook her hand. Her face blushed and she nodded. I went up to the barista and ordered her another drink and paid for it. "So, your kids?" I asked and she shook her head. "Not like my children but my students. I'm a 1st-grade teacher," she smiled. "Oh. Makes sense. Well, I would like my sweater back eventually. It is my favorite," I smiled and she laughed. "I can see why," she said messing with the drawstrings. "So maybe I could have your number. So we could...I don't know. Go out sometime. Grab some food. Chill at my place," I smirked. "If I agree to this, do I get to keep the sweater?" she asked and I shook my head. "No," I laughed. "Give me your phone," she said and I handed her mine. She tapped something on there and then gave it back to me. "Kayla!" the barista yelled out my name. "That's me," I said and we walked up to the counter.
"So, I'll text you," I said and she nodded. "Thanks for the coffee. See you around," she said walking in the opposite direction. I walked back towards the building only to hear my name being called again. "Kayla," I turned around thinking it was Jazmin. It was Yvonne. "So, you're stalking me," I joked and she smiled. "Maybe, maybe not. I've never felt like the Joe type but who knows," she laughed and I shook my head. "You?" I said referencing the show. "Yea. It's a great show," she smiled. We started to walk back towards my job. I noticed she kept flirting with me but I kind of brushed it off. Studs weren't my type but I've always kept an open mind because you never know. To be honest it's not like I didn't find her somewhat attractive. I would actually try something with her if the timing was right. "I remember we had an agreement that if I saw you again that you'd give me your number," she brought up out of nowhere. But it was the truth. "You are absolutely right," I said as we stopped in front of my building. "But as you can see my hands are kind of full. So here," I gave her my number and she texted me while I was standing right there. "I'll see you around," she said looking me up and down and jogging away. I walked into the building and right up to the office. "Hey B," I said setting down a breakfast sandwich and his coffee. "Hey, Bestie. This for me?" he smiled. "Yessir. I was in a good mood," I said and he had this look on his face.
"Who's the girl," he asked. "Well there's two," I said and his eyes bulged out of his head. "SPILL," he was being dramatic. "Well one you know, Yvonne," I said and he looked shocked. "I never imagined you as the S4S type but I could see why. Yvonne could make me straight if she wanted to. But who's the other one," he asked making me laugh. "The other one is this girl named Jazmin. I met her at the coffee shop and she has now kidnapped my sweater," I said. "They grey one?" he asked and I nodded. "Oop. She had to be fine as hell for you to give her that shit," I laughed again. "So yea. She spilled her coffee and it messed up her clothes so I gave her my sweater. Depending on how Friday goes, I might take her on a date after work," I said sipping my coffee. "Ouu what are you going to do?" He asked and I shrugged. "Well, it's 9:30. You should get going. Have fun. Let me know how it all goes," he said turning back around to his desk. "Alright, I'll see you after," I said grabbing my blazer, phone, and laptop. I made my way to the elevator and there were two others already on the elevator. One older female probably around my mom's age, and a younger man probably about two years older than me. "What floor?" The older one asked me biting her lip. I lowkey felt uncomfortable but at the same time slightly turned on which only made me even more uncomfortable. "8," I said and she nodded to the man and he pressed the button.
