I LOOKED for policemen but I couldn't find a single one. She dragged me to the right side. It was a dead-end corner. Tall buildings were standing beside us. I wanted to move but I couldn't. She grabbed my arm forcefully and threw me on the bags of garbage.
If these trashes could kill people, I was already dead. It was very stinky. She took something from her pocket, it was a sharp knife.
"What do you want?" I asked. She smiled like a creepy clown. I even imagined a red puffy ball on her nose thought it wasn't the time to distract myself.
"Eye killer, I wasn't able to kill you at that time because of that friend of yours who sacrificed her life just for you. I can't get it why she decided to save you even though you're a criminal? Do you know why?" She fiddled her knife and pointed it toward me.
"You killed Auren!" I shouted. I tempted to attack her but she moved the knife even closer to my neck the same time she spoke.
"You killed my grandmother!"
I remembered the exact happening when that happened. I bumped into someone and fell on the rocky surface. An old woman offered her hand but I pushed it away. I forgot that I made eye contact with her when she died. A teenager held my shoulder and was mad at me saying I didn't help the old woman which turned out to be her grandmother.
"It was an accident! I didn't do it purposely!" I said. Her hands were trembling. The second thing I knew, there were tears rolling down on her cheeks.
"Why aren't you using your eyes?! Remove your sunglasses and show me that your eyes can kill!" she cried. Instead of having mercy with the girl, my eyebrows furrowed when she said those words.
"How did you know about it?" I asked calmly then followed by a furious one. "How did you know?! Who fuckin told you?!"
"Remove your sunglasses!" She was still pointing the knife toward my neck. She's right, I could just take off my sunglasses and look at her naked eyes. But I didn't. I promised myself not to do it anymore. Never.
I pushed the knife sideward and she didn't complain at all. She sat on the ground and cried. Her hands were above her knees, covering her wet face.
"Who told you?" I needed an answer. Only Orlstein and Neo knew but I only told Neo after the death of Auren. There must be someone who knew about my real identity.
"He didn't tell his name," she said, few seconds after I asked. Neo? Could it be him?
"What does he looks like?"
"Tall. Creepy. Scary. Long hair. Old, I guess. He was wearing a mask that's why I couldn't see his face." She gestured her hands while describing the guy. I didn't know a person who fits her description.
"Oh wait, I forgot. He has an eye tattoo on his right arm," she added, pointing her right arm and drawing an eye.
"What else did he tell you?" I asked. Could it be Adolf? Or someone who stalked me.
"You had eye transplant when you were still a kid. You killed your parents."
I couldn't hold back my anger when she mentioned my parents. I punched the wall as hard as I could. A huge bam echoed and a crack was made on the wall. My knuckles started to bleed and it hurt like hell. The pain didn't stop my anger, instead I leaned closer to her and showed my bleeding fist.
"Take me to that guy," I demanded. She was startled, no she was scared. A drop of sweat rolled down on her forehead. I was so desperate to see him.
"I don't know where he lives! We met at the cemetery the day before the festival. I didn't see him again after our encounter."
I lost hope and looked away. My fist balled and I sighed heavily. The day was almost over and I wasn't able to buy our bus tickets. The ticket center must be close by now yet I was talking to this stranger who killed Auren.
"But I saw him riding on a D- BUS," she said. D- BUS? What the heck was that? A bus, stupid. "If you don't know, D- BUS is the only bus that will stop at Town 3, the farthest town from the city."
"Please don't tell the police or anyone. Promise, I will not interfere with your life anymore. And I'm sorry for killing your friend," she added.
"Fine," I said, ending our conversation. I took off my hoodie and wrapped my fist which was still bleeding. Should I tell Orlstein about this? I would never tell her.
I left her without any word and went home. Neo wasn't home yet when I arrived and Orlstein was preparing our dinner. I was ashamed that she was cooking for us when she's actually our guest. Especially that I knew who killed Auren and I didn't have any plan on telling her.
"So, you already bought the tickets?" she asked when she saw me opening the door. She was wearing Neo's favorite Hawaii inspired trouser. It looked like they were already talking to each other.
I was out of words for a moment and finally came up of a cool excuse.
"Nope. I got into a fight," I said which was half true. I was with the teenager girl earlier and she almost killed me but luckily her fragile mind changed. I looked at Orlstein's face which I thought she didn't believe what I had told her.
"It's a good thing that you haven't bought the ticket because we're not going to the Central Bus Station anymore. Tomorrow, we'll ride D- BUS," she said. We're going to Town 3? It looked like tomorrow's my lucky day.
We ate dinner. Buffalo wings and hot soup were served on the table. Neo wasn't home yet and I didn't know where he was. I needed to talk to that boy.
