He ran as fast has he could at the voice in his head counted down the distance between him and freedom.

"Fifteen meters South, fourteen, thirteen..."

A hut was in his line of sight, and dim candlelight was seen through the two front windows-signifying that the magician was home. Lance was soaked from head to toe and hammered on the door upon reaching it. Rain hit him like bullets-direct and hard. Not wishing to stay in those conditions he beat harder on the door.

The silver door handle shook and the door opened, spilling out heat and letting the cold adventure inside. Keith looked shocked, to say the least, as he let Lance inside.

"I'm so sorry, this must be a dreadful hour to ask of your assistance." Lance said while catching his breath.

"What brings you here?" Keith asked frantically, closing the door. "Here, take a seat; you look dreadful." Lance was led inside to the main room. It was very quaint with a few chairs and a table with a crystal ball, all tied together with the warm fireplace which shone like a thousand suns.

He sat across from Keith, shivering and shaking.

"I need you to help me. I need you to kill Prince Lotor."

"Woah! I can't do that! Your highness I'm sorry but that's-"

"You don't understand where I'm coming from. I need you to kill him so I am not stuck with that sick bastard for the rest of my life." His tone was direct, and stern. Lance knew what he wanted, and he wanted Lotor dead. He could unite the two nations some other way that didn't involve marriage, but right now he was stuck being engaged to a self-loathing freak. "He has slaughtered my people in the past and I could never look at him in a positive light. I speak for peace, and a marriage may bring that but it will bring years of dread upon their leader. I wish the best for my people but this is not the answer."

"If you speak for peace why would I kill him then?" Keith asked, still a bit shook by the request.

"Because this is a sick bastardization of love."

"Your highness, do you care about your people more or your feelings?"

Lance stayed silent for a moment. The people of Altea were his priority, but if the marriage went through he would be reduced to a former shell of himself.

"I'm unsure. Listen, if you go through with this I can make you the richest man alive. It's an offer many wouldn't pass up." Lance looked at Keith with narrow eyes in the dim room. He sat back and drummed his fingers on the arm of the chair he sat in.

"I'm sorry but I'll have to pass."

"You know, it's rude to refuse an offer from the Prince. I'll give you everything and more if you help me." He threw him a smile, but it was more a smirk. Maybe it was just the candle lit setting but it defiantly put him in the mood for flirting. "You name it and it's yours Keith. What's there to lose?"

Keith stayed silent and was still a bit uneasy about the situation. He was drawn to the sparkling jewels Lance wore, they matched his eyes, and his crown-a priceless accessory glimmered like hundreds of stars. That smile he wore too, it was alluring. Lance surely was a beauty, and Keith secretly hoped to get something out of this.

"I'll do it." Keith said with a tone of confidence, returning a smile as well.

"Thank you."

"Is there anything else I can do, your highness."

"Please, call me Lance. And I would love one of those readings you do."

Keith nodded and gestured Lance to the table in the room which housed a crystal ball. The stack of tarot cards lord beside it, which Keith took and began shuffling. Like he had done at the castle the cards were put into three groups, then dealt, then selected. His violet eyes shut once more as he let his hand blindly pull towards whatever called out to him.

Three cards were selected and put in front of Lance.

"May I see the Magician card?" Lance asked, listening deeply to Keith's words

"May I see the Magician card?" Lance asked, listening deeply to Keith's words. He nodded and slid the card closer for Lance to hold. "It reminds me of you."

"Because I'm a magician?"

"Yes, that's exactly why." He traced the figure on the card.

"The magician creates desires from nothingness. But also can manipulate the truth." Keith explained, his head resting on his hands, eager to tell his knowledge of the cards.

"Oh really? Any desires?"

"Anything you put your mind to. Don't get any ideas though." Keith winked and laughed a bit.

"Oh my, it's very unprofessional to flirt with the prince." Lance said, the words made Keith's face red.

"Well maybe.." he shrugged and chuckled uncomfortably.

"As your ruler," Lance started getting up from his chair and circling around to Keith's side, setting the card down as well. "I command you to kiss me."

"It's impolite to refuse an offer from a Prince." Keith said, shakily and confused that things had escalated so quickly. He stood up to accept Lances offer.
