I haven't undated this in 30 years. I have 2 other fics and a ton of oneshots I'm gonna be posting here too, along with my oddly political book "burn the throne" and the klance au of that.

A day later the two were discussing their relationship, what they were to each other-and it was determined that they were lovers. One thing had led to another and they were engulfed by their affectionate tendencies-now kissing at the small table that housed the crystal ball.

A loud startling knock was heard at the door, before even being able to react to the noise, a royal guard was bursting through the door.

"Royal Guard of Altea, remain where you're at! We are looking for Prince Lance!"

The two froze, their hearts skipping a beat. It was obviously determined that Lance was missing, all households and buildings were being searched for the absent royal.

Keith felt his heart sink, he knew that he would be executed. Had the guard seen them through the window while they kissed? Maybe even just being in Lances presence would earn him an execution.

"I'm so sorry." Lance muttered. "Sir, I've only come here for a reading, I had lost track of time and-" He smiled innocently trying to convince the guard of his story.

"Your presence has been requested by Prince Lotor your highness. He has fallen ill." The guard spoke with his booming voice, staring at Keith through his helmet.

The magician quivered in his seat as he watched Lance make his way to the door to be led home by the guard. Their romance had only just began, but it was quickly shot down-and the curse was in full effect.

"Sir," Keith abruptly stood up, not wanting to lose Lance. "as a magician who has been privately requested by the ill stricken prince, I would like to pay him a visit myself."

Lance smiled at Keith, though it was not apparent to the guard.

Built like a tank, and easily being able to beat Keith to the ground, he answered.

"Of course. You must use your own means of arriving at the palace, I will inform the guards to allow you in. Good day." Without being able to express a reply, Lance was swept out the door which was slammed closed shortly after. Keith was left alone in his house, his heart beating, blood rushing, and mind racing.

'It worked. It's only a matter of time until I have killed the Prince..' He thought to himself, it was best not to speak openly about the murder-who knows who could be listening.

A silky red cat emerged from under one of the couches and mewed softly.

"Red, I'm so sorry." He bent down to pet his familiar, her fur was soft like velvet and her eyes were a glowing shade of yellow that usually scared onlookers. She's shy and usually would hide whenever Keith had clients, and only now just emerged from her hiding spot.

Keith rushed to his table with a feather pen and parchment and wrote a letter.

"Shiro, I'm sorry. I may have made the biggest mistake. My life is at risk, I have agreed to murder Prince Lotor on behalf of Prince Lance. If I do not return home I have been executed."

Regards, Keith

He rolled the brownish, stiff parchment up and attached it to a small nook on Reds collar.

"Deliver it to Shiro, and do not return here unless I bring you here myself." Keith gave Red one last pet and she pounced out the open window, heading to Shiros last known location.

Now preparing for his arrival at the palace, Keith packed a bag with the contents of-his tarot cards, a knife, and an enchanted gemstone.

He headed out into the forest, following a trail to the city.

His house was positioned at a reasonable distance from the palace, it was slightly visible through the trees. The city was infested with tall buildings, reaching for the sky and their pointed tips pierced the stars at night.

After walking for a while, Keith reached the city. Passerby's stared at him, he defiantly didn't look like a typical Altean while wrapped up in his silks-hell, he wasn't even Altean at all.

The castle gates were crafted from iron, and resembled spider webs. Two guards stood in front of the entrance.

"Keith Kogane, we have been notified of your arrival. Welcome." One of the guards spoke and pushed open the gate for Keith to get through. He carried on towards the castle doors where more guards stood and propped open the door for him.

Upon stepping inside, he was met with a ballroom. Unlike before, it was crowded with people. They all were upper class citizens or friends and family of the royals. Keith was out of place. As someone who was currently having an affair with the Prince, he was a lowlife compared to the wealthy. Keith stood uncomfortably out of place near the entrance to the palace.

A familiar face walked through groups of people. It was Lance, his face wore a forced smile and his face was a touch red. It wasn't blush-it was a sign of sadness, he had been crying.

Lance approached Keith. He wore new clothing but it was still his trademark blue. His sapphire blue cape flowed behind him and the genuine sapphires on his jewelry shone like stars.

"May we speak privately?" He whispered.

"Of course." Keith agreed and followed Lance through the crowd and down the beginning of a hallway.

"Your highness where are you going! Isn't this exciting news?! You shouldn't be hiding out!" One of the guests called after him.

"Yes, very exciting," Lance pulled himself together to utter those words. "I wish to speak to the magician privately. I will return shortly." He quickly opened the door to a nearby room and ushered Keith inside.

A murmur was heard outside regarding a magician, and how some of the guests would like readings.

"What's happening?" Keith said with a concern.

"It's today. The marriage was moved to today because Lotor has fallen ill." Lance teared up, defeated by the situation. "Keith, I can't do this. We have to do something." His voice shook with every word as the odd tear climbed down his cheeks.
