-July 3, 2019-

The man walked along the street, tired. His shoulders sagged with worry and regret. At the age of 20 he was worn and broken. He turned a corner and entered a building. Everything seemed so new to him; he was still getting used to the differences in life. At least he was home.

Almost halfway across the city Peter looked down at his buzzing phone, the black screen didn't tell him much, with 'caller unknown' as the only thing showing. Hesitantly he held it up to his ear. "Hello?"

"Peter it's me." The voice on the other end was hoarse and dry but most undoubtably Sophiea.

"Where have you been? We've all been so worried." His question was brushed away by his friend. From the other end of the phone, he could hear her voice crack.

"Thanos is coming. He's coming here. Peter, you have to stay safe. Promise me you are going to stay safe!"

The hair on his arms prickled and he looked down in confusion. "Yeah, yeah. Stay safe, I get it. I have to go now. Love you. Bye!"

Sophiea sighed and put the payphone down. From her vantage point though the trees she could see new buildings connected to the one she knew so well. She approached the complex, but, paused outside.

"It's ok." She whispered to herself. Taking a deep breath, she pushed through the doors. Memories flooded her mind as she strode down the hallways, trying to find the people she loved.

She was back home.

Sophiea started to run.

An argument could be heard from the meeting room. "He's been gone for years. What's another 15 minutes? Can't you hold your horses for just a little bit?"

"Well, we know he's back now! We have to go get him. I've waited for years I can't wait any longer." another voice responded.

Rodey sounded calm. "Eve, he's coming. He called ahead. He's on his way as we speak."

Eve.

Sophiea rushed through the doors. Before her lay a scene of chaos. News clips were playing on a screen, showing a decimated New York; Rhodey was talking to secretary Ross and trying to calm Eve down; while some one was hunched over a table moving blue sections of news into different stacks.

A sudden rush of nostalgia hit her, and she barely choked out the question: "Guys, what's going on?"

4 pairs of eyes turned to look at her.

Eve was the first one to respond. "Sophiea!"

She was suddenly aware of how bad she looked. Her hair was ragged and unkept; her recent tears had streaked the dust on her face; and her beautiful Asgardian dress, given to her by her aunt was in shreds and bloodstained after the fight on the Bifrost. But bedraggled or not Sophiea was soon engulfed by the 16-year-old's embrace.

"Sophiea, it's been so long. I haven't seen mom in so long and they say dad's back. Oh, where have you been?"

Before she could respond she met eyes with the young man who had been watching the news.

His hair had grown longer, and he seemed more battle worn, but his eyes were the same startling blue. Sophiea let out a gasp.

"Nathanial?"

His eyes sparkled with tears. Unable to speak, he just nodded.

They rushed at each other. As they touched, he wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her forehead and Sopheia felt the tears fall on her hair.
