Kels😘
Hey, I know we aren't talking, but can you at least let me know you're alive? You haven't been to the dorm in like a week. You good?I sighed as I texted back.
To: Kels😘
Yeah. I'm good.Placing my phone back on the table in front of me, a look of frustration hit my face. My sister noticed and shook her head. "What's wrong?"
"Kelly." I mumbled dryly.
Essence made a face. She was caught up on everything and wasn't Kelly's biggest fan anymore. "So... she trynna fight you or something?"
"What?" I asked in humor. "No."
"Oh. The way you said it— well shit, why you said it like that?" I showed her the messages and she shrugged. "She's just checking on you."
"No, she's being weird."
"No bitch, you being weird. You gone have to face the music eventually. You know that. You told Jo?"
I shook my head. "Hell no."
"Good. Don't. You did what I told you?"
Nodding, I replied. "Yeah, I popped up last week."
"And you told her that you were back?"
"Yeah."
"Her reaction?"
I smirked lowly. "It was a good reaction."
Essence squinted at me. "Hol up. Hol the fuck up. Did you go to that office and fuck her?"
"Maybe."
"Oh shit. I'm proud." Essence smiled at me. "That's what I'm talking about. So how'd it go?"
"The sex?"
"Yessss! She's your first woman right?"
I nodded softly as I sipped my lemonade through the straw. "Mhm."
"Oh, so you receiving and that's it?"
Picking up a fry, I bit into it as I smirked. "Who said all of that?"
"Bih, you giving too?"
"I did yesterday." I boosted. "She said I did good."
"You sound like a happy go lucky child who just got promoted to line leader." Essence looked at me in annoyance. "It's sex bitch."
Rolling my eyes, I chuckled. "My bad. I know. I know."
Essence chuckled. "I wanna meet this woman. She got you giving and not just receiving, shit, I wanna meet who got yo straight ass hooked on the rainbow hook. You did what I taught ya?"
Of course I had but I didn't have time for her to be boosting about it.
"Nah. I think I was too in the moment to remember all of the lesbian sexcapades you told me." I gagged at the thought of the stories themselves.
"Whatever bitch, my shit worked back in the gap. Had people hypnotized with what I was putting down, but when am I gonna meet the woman? I wanna meet a congresswoman too."
"You'll meet her. I think...."
She listened to me trail and questioned. "Why do you think?"
"So ya know, she's engaged." I mumbled.
My sister tucked her curls behind her ear as she leaned closer. "Say that one more time."
My volume lowered even more. "She's engaged, but it's fake... It's for publicity."
Essences eyes widened. "Oh shit. Okay, yeah let me meet her then. Cause she's pulling a whole stunt on the world. Sis has mad powers."
I chuckled. "She would crack up if she heard you say that."
Almost as if I spoke her up, she texted me.
Boss Lady ✨
Hey where you at? Wanna do lunch?Texting back, I let her know where I was.
To: Boss Lady ✨
I would, but I'm at lunch with my sister right now. Rain check?Boss Lady ✨
Oh... that's your sister? Just wanted to make sure. Look up.When I looked up, Jo and Gil stood across the room smiling at me. I shook my head and motioned them over. My sister turned when she saw me do it and quickly turned back to me. "Hold up, am I about to meet her right now?"
I nodded as I chuckled. "Yeah, you are."
Essence's eyes widened. "Oh shit wait, I'm not ready. I can't do this. How's my hair?"
Mumbling because they were getting closer, I spoke quickly. "Calm down. You look fine and play this off because you look awkward. She's just a regular person but just so happens to be a kickass politician."
"Okay. Yeah. You're right. I got this." She began taking breathes.
I shot her a look as I muttered back. "Bitch, do not embarrass me." I quickly smiled when Jo and Gil made it over to our table. "Hey guys."
"Hola." Gil sung out.
Jo smiled back at me. "Hey."
"Jo and Gil, this is my sister Essence. Essence, this is my boss Jo, and her best friend slash imaginary baby mother, Gil." I introduced the duo to my sister.
Essence smiled timidly. "Hi. It's nice to meet you. I follow your campaign, I'm a huge fan."
"Really?" Jo smiled at her. "Well I hope to gain your vote this election."
"Baby you black, you was getting that vote weather you wanted it or not." Essence replied as she looked at Jo with a 'duh' face.
Jo chuckled. "Well that's good to hear." She looked at me. "You coming in to the office today?"
My face furrowed as I checked my phone. "Yeah I can. I didn't know I was scheduled."
"Oh you aren't. Things at the office are getting really hectic and I need someone to help me run these people." Jo replied.
I nodded. "Yeah, I'll come in after I leave from here."
"Alright. So I'll see you there. Gil and I have to go back to the office for a meeting." She informed me as she faced Essence again. "It was nice meeting you Essence, I hope to see you soon and thanks for your support on my campaign."
Side eyeing Jo for being so proper, I held back my giggle. I wasn't used to this side of her anymore. Her and Gil waved one last time before heading out the restaurant.
When they were out of sight Essence faced me again with wide eyes. "Did you hear that? She said she hopes to see me again soon. She's like really proper."
I shook my head as I chuckled. "That's Jo for you. She's really proper on first meet."
"I'm guessing she's not that proper in private."
My volume dropped again as I leaned towards my sister. "Saying that her heads been residing in between my legs half the time, I think I'm guessing the same thing."
She laughed as she made a face in disgust. "You are a nasty whore."
"Takes one to know one." I smirked at her.
