Sick

Kion was quite sick. Saying he was quite sick was an understatement but let's keep it at that. The rest of the Guard was sent on patrol and on break for the rest of the day since all of the Pridelands looked clear and safe. After the normal patrol, Fuli slid into the lion's den with a grunt.

She spotted Kion laying meekly on a small rock, he looked terrible. It was obvious he had gotten a cold. Fuli dropped the zebra leg she had brought for him next to his shuddering body and spoke, "You look like death had eaten you up. How're you feeling?" Kion slowly raised his head to look her in the eye.

"I'm doing okay. I still feel terrible though," Kion glanced at the leg, "Thanks, Fuli. You're the best. I would lick your cheek but I don't want to get you sick, too." Fuli grinned slightly and left the den to get water for him.

She called back, "I'll fetch you some water!" Kion whispered an 'ok' and went back to sleep. In his sleep he dreamed of Fuli and him grown up with cubs of their own and Fuli being his mate. After 15 or so minutes, Fuli returned with moss soaked in water.

The sleek cheetah nudged the cub with a paw and whispered, "Hey, wake up. I've got you water... you should drink." Kion grumbled and with a sigh, Fuli slid the ball over.

The moss ball (at an alarming speed) bumped against his nose with a gross squelch. Groaning, Kion wiped his nose with a paw and looked down at the green ball of wetness under his snout. He peered up and saw Fuli giggling slightly, "Sorry, my bad. I didn't mean that to be so fast."

He shrugged and started to lap up the water. Kion was starting to feel queasy and flopped to the side. "Hold on, I'll get you some medicine to help. I'll be back," she trotted over to where the medicine was normally stored and sniffed to find the right one.

"Aha! Abal, found it." She cheered for herself as she stuffed as much Abal flowers she could and ran off back to Pride Rock. Small bits of the flowers dropped behind her but she didn't care, as long as she gets Kion back to the proper health she'll be happy.

Fuli burst into the den and Kion woke up with a jump. Taking in a deep breath he smiled a little, "What's that?" Kion looked directly at the flowers in her jaws. She dropped them and spoke,

"Abal flowers. They'll help, just eat them." Fuli encouraged. Kion stuck his tongue out and chewed on the flower bits with a shudder. The lion guard leader dipped his head in thanks and curled into a ball, drifting to sleep again.

Fuli smiled and curled near him, keeping her distance from the sickness.

The next morning, Kion awoke with no throat pains or stomach pain. He stretched and shook Fuli to wake her up. "Fuli! Fuli! I'm cured!" Fuli groaned and looked up to see a very over joyed lion cub prancing around the den. She got up and stretched.

"That's wonderful... but I think I might be the sick one now." She groaned. Kion sighed.

"Oh no."
