Washed Away

When Fuli and the Lion Guard spotted the gushing water, roaring down the gorge, they panicked. The water was moving fast and they had almost no time to react and move out of the way. Fuli didn't know what she was doing but she immediately shoved everyone out of the waters' path and to safety.  After knowing they were fine and in a safe area, she tried to hop onto the rock to get to her friends.

Unfortunately, the water came down harder and faster than she anticipated and it brought her with the blue water. A thick wave shoved her downward into the water and in a flash, her green eyes darted forwards to see a boulder getting closer and closer. Her fragile head smashed against the hard rock, knocking her out.

All Fuli could remember was a bright red streaming around her face and the water making her fur sway and muffled cries of her name.

The water was freezing but Kion didn't care. Fuli saved him, he must save her. He dove into the rushing water with the determination of saving his friend and crush. Ono flew up, his slightly hurt wing didn't help but he scanned the dancing water for Fuli - he spotted a yellow blur getting pulled under. "Hapana! It's Fuli! She's drowning!" he hollered to get everyone's attention.

Bunga and Beshte were trying to stop the water from washing away their two friends and Beshte managed to stop the water from moving when he threw a large boulder into it. The 3 animals watched for a lion cub and maybe a cheetah. Ono swooped down to stand on the hippo's shoulder, watching along with them. "There they are!" Bunga pointed to the lion cub bravely dragging a bloodied cheetah from out of the water and onto the bank of the water.

Kion nudged his nose against Fuli's cold cheek to wake her up. When Kion pulled away, her head flopped to the side. She looked like she was only sleeping - she looked beautiful even when there was a large gash on her forehead. "Fuli, c'mon, wake up." he whispered with uncertainty. Fuli started to stir. A smile of hope was on Kion's face when he knew she survived the damage.

"Kion?" she groaned, rubbing her head and jerking her paw back once she felt the sting of the injury. "What happened?" Fuli brought her paw forward and studied the blood intently. Kion, instead of replying, hugged her with tears staining his cheek fur.

"You survived." was all he could rasp out. Fuli could feel her own tears dripping down from her sad eyes.

Fuli smiled weakly and replied, "Yeah, I survived."
