The bushes and branches scraped Lisa's arm and legs as she was pulled farther into the woods. She could not believe what was happening, a few minutes ago she was thinking about the cheese and crackers she was going to eat soon -- oh Lunch. She had forgotten how hungry she was. Starving. She hadn't eaten since dawn and she was now being dragged along by this creature to who knows where. Well the Mid knows where..
"WhEre aRe wE GoiNg?!?" She nearly yelled as she was dragged through a particularly thorny bush.
"PleAsE! wHat's HapPeniNg?! I aM to yOunG to diE" She figured this must be the end, tortured by this thing, then left to be eaten by the wolves.
"Oh please," Candela began, "you do not have to be such a drama king!" "We needed to escape and now we are going to -- well I can't tell you where, but you are safe now. Relax"
"RELAX! I AM BEING DRAGGED, DRAGGED THROUGH THESE WOODS BY A MIDIAN WHO TRIED TO KILL THE VIN! DON'T TELL ME TO RELAX!"
The Midian stopped suddenly. "Thanks to you our location is probably compromised. You do not need to shout! My name is Candala." She let go of the girl's hand.
The girl was panting slightly, but looked up defiantly at Candala the worry still etched on her face.
"My name is Lisa, I work on a small cornish farm some miles south of the castle." She said.
"You're a Midian right, from Blackgra."
The Midian had no air in her lungs, she had no words to say, would she lie? How could that help her and the girl already knew so much, I mean she might as well tell her the rest or maybe not, she already knew too much. Yes, she couldn't risk saying anymore it would just make Lisa more of a threat, she was already a bomb, but what if Lisa didn't believe her, it seemed that Lisa sort of knew what was going on could she really lie well enough to her?
She just stared at the girl confirming what Lisa had said. Her mouth open flies coming out instead of words and she watched all of the honor she would have gotten from finishing off the Vin go down the drain as the girl realized what was happening, understood, and digested the situation, and all Candela could do was watch.
Lisa didn't move a muscle, she was thinking, the wheels visibly turning in her head. Her life was simple, how could it possibly have turned into such a mess. The Vin was probably in critical condition and she was on the run or being kidnapped? It was unclear.
Her brain was in overdrive in a sudden realization of how dire this situation really was, the world began to move around her. Her head was made of air and her mouth as dry as a summer drought. She closed her eyes for just a second, but the last thing she could remember was the smell of wet earth and a strong scent of Gardenias.
The Midian watched as Lisa's eyes began to close, she could see the struggle in her face as she was trying to figure out what to do. It wasn't until she was in her arms that it became apparent that she was about to pass out. Candela had no clue what to do, she quickly decided to hoist the girl unto her back and carry her. A trip that would have normally taken one day quickly became two when she finally stopped to sleep. The Mid was exhausted from carrying her and found a slightly hollowed tree to rest. She tied the girl to keep her from running away and placed her in the branch next to her taking hardly a minute to fall asleep.
