Chapter 22

After dinner Lexy and Carlo went out to the backyard by the garden to talk. 

How is Chance? asked Carlo.

He's still the same.  I hope not for long.  I hate to look at him laying there all because I ran off and he wanted to get back to me.  I really need to grow up.  I'm going to be a mom.  Hopefully not a single mother she says looking over at Carlo.

That is something we should talk about says Carlo.  Lexy I care about you but I'm not in love with you and I know your not in love with me he says finally looking over at her. 

Carlo I care about you but your right I'm still in love with Chance.  I want to thank you for taking care of me but I shouldn't have ran off in the first place  It was just so much to deal with my father not being my father.  Just the thought of Chance being my brother was too much. 

I can understand my eyes burned for weeks when I walked in on my sister in the bathroom.  They chuckle. 

Carlo when we kissed I didn't feel what I felt with Chance and it's not just you I never felt this way with anyone.

Sounds like true love.  I hope to feel that for a special woman one day says Carlo.  Have you told him that you'll are having a baby? 

He's in a coma so no.

You should that may just bring him back.  I know that would work for me.

Look at you.  Hell, yeah he says laughing.  If I had a girl like you and a baby on the way I have to be here to say I did that pointing to her stomach. 

What if I mess it up Carlo my mother and both fathers cheated.  I even kissed you.

You can't go by what your parents do even though they raised you.  You have your morels and own values.  You are your own person Lexy.  And besides you thought you and Chance was related when we kissed.  So that don't really count.  You are going to have to let the past go, all of it so you can move on.  And if you ever need anything I'm here and I'm not going anywhere.

I don't know working with Sean may want you to run back overseas she laughs.

The next day Lexy packed a bag she was going to spending the night with Chance at the hospital.  When she arrived Beth was leaving out of the room.  She stopped to speak with Lexy. 

I glad your back and I'm so excited that I'm going to be a grandmother.  Maybe I want mess things up this time around. 

I'm looking forward to getting to know you but my mother is going to be a grandmother too.  I think that you two should start working on getting along.  You have several months to get it together and when Chance wake up we not going to be caught in the middle of you'll fussing.

Don't look so shocked I had the same talk with my mother says Lexy and she says she's going to try and get along for the baby's sake.

Well alright then if that's the only way to see the baby I'll try also. 

That's great I say giving her a huge hug.  As Lexy released her Randy comes out of Chance room from saying goodnight.

Hey Babe he says to Lexy hugging her.  Beth I thought you was gone.

I was just talking to Lexy.  I'm about to head out.

Come on I'll walk you and maybe we can get something to eat says Randy.

Really? says Beth.

Yea, I'm hungry and you look like you need something to eat.  Beth had lost a few pounds worrying about everything. They walked off towards the exit talking about whatever.  When they got to the exit Randy turned around and waved at Lexy.

Lexy went into the hospital room and sat in the chair beside Chance's bed.  She held his big hand in her little one and she thought about how there little baby's little hand would look on top   of there's.  She then said Chance I miss you.  I love you and I'm having your baby.  And I refuse to do this alone.  So your going to need to wake your ass up.  You been on vacation long enough.  She says walking over and turning the light off by the door.

She walks back over and pulls the covers back and crawl into bed with Chance she missed being close to him.  She put on her ear buds and sang along with the music until she fell asleep.

In the morning Lexy woke up with the sun shinning thru the window warming her face.  She rolled over to find an empty bed.     I'm not ready to get up she whined covering her head with the covers.

She heard a door open and footsteps walking across the floor.  When the footsteps stopped she could feel someone standing beside the bed. 

Lexy heard a doctor being paged over the intercom.  Where the hell am I at thought Lexy fighting to get the cover off her head.  She sits up to see Chance standing beside the hospital bed in a hospital grown. 

CHANCE YOUR AWAKE!  she screams jumping up and hugging him as tight as she could. 

Well yeah you told me to wake my ass up what is that all about. I was sleeping good plus you snore and you hogged the bed lastnight and you hit me in the nuts with your knee.

Lexy, let go long enough to stand back and look at him in his gourous green eyes.  Chance smiled down at her.  How you feel? she ask with tears rolling down her cheeks. She patted over his body like she was making sure everything was intact.

I feel fine I've been up for hours.  The doctor checked me out while filling me in what happened to me and he said every thing looks great and I should be able to go home in a few days after they run some test. My parents are on the way.  I used your phone I hope you don't mind I don't know where him is and I couldn't remember any numbers and I wanted to talk to Trevor.  They all coming over to the hospital.

And a reminder went off on your phone for a doctors appointment today.  What's that about are you feeling alright?

I'm feeling great. Chance what else did you hear while you was sleep.

Lots of stuff my mom my dad talking to me all the time. But you said we was having a baby to wake my ass up and you was singing and I wanted you to shut up because I just wanted to sleep.  Then I woke up.  The nurse came in we went next door so I wouldn't wake you and the doctor came and checked me out.

So are we?  Are we having a baby? Is that what the doctor appointment is for?

Yes, says Lexy we are.

 Looking at her like really YEA,  he says yelling and picking her up and kissing her.  He was so excited.  When did that happen because I don't remember us....

That's when the door opened and Randy rushes in.

SON!  Randy yelled walking quickly over and giving Chance a big bear hug.  How do you feel? Chance looked normal and in his right mind which was great.

I'm fine Dad and did your hear the news we having a baby he says pulling Lexy close to him with his arm around her waist.  Your going to be a granddad!

Randy looks at Lexy. Yea, I know we been just waiting for you to wake up so we could share our excitement with you.

Guess who else having a baby?

  Zoey! she says even before Chance could guess.

Really!  I can't wait to see Trevor's face so I can rub it in I'm having a baby first.

About that Trevor has a girlfriend and she pregnant and is do the same week a me.

Wait, Trevor has a girlfriend and baby on the way how long was I sleep. Dam.  Is your due date first because I need my Jr. her before Trevor's baby get here.

Randy and Lexy laugh at him.  Is it always going to be a comption with you'll two. 

Son you can't rush a baby they come when they ready not so they can beat your best friends baby here first.

That's when everyone comes rushing in to see Chance.  Trevor was the first one to come thru the door followed by the rest of Lexy's family.  They all greeted him with hugs and kisses.  Then the other person Chance had been waiting to see all morning arrived his Mother Beth.
