Two Pink Lines

Chapter 21

Two days later Rosa, Lester and Randy are back at the hospital in the waiting room again.  They have made it back home from a long flight.  Randy is anxious to check on Chance but he will have to wait  because he already has a visitor who wants to see him more, Lexy. 

She made the trip back hoe with them.  Dr. Ray broke the news to her that Chance wasn't her brother because she still refused to see her parents even after they flew all that way to see her.  But when she saw them she felt so relieved like a weight was lifted off her shoulders.  She took turns crying in there arms including Randy's. 

She finally listened to the story from her parents point of view and forgave her mother and her father for keeping this from her.  She realized that Randy was just as much in the dark as she was so how could she be mad at him.  She felt sad for him he had found out both his sons wasn't his.  But he was happy to still have gained a daughter.  And she saw that nothing was going to change between her and the dad Lester. 

All was good except Chance was in a coma still and she felt like it was her fault.

She eased the door open to see a still sexy unconscious Chance laying in bed.   She walked over and stood beside his bed reaching down and holding his hand.  She had missed him she had tryed to push all her feelings she had for him out of her mind and heart while she was gone.  She had even managed to start having feelings for Carlo well she thought she did anyway.

He had flew back with them also.  He had went home to give her some space.  Lexy didn't want to worry about her feelings for Carlo right now she needed Chance to wake up.

She sit by his bed for hours until she feel asleep.  She felt a hand shake her awake.  She woke looking around trying to remember where she was.   She looked up and saw her mother.

Come on baby let's go home.  You need your rest.  And the rest of the family is dying to see you.

No, Ma what if he wakes up and I'm not here.

How about I stay with him and I'll let you know if there's any change she heard Randy say from the door.  You have had a long flight and your mother is right you need to take care of yourself and that growing baby.  Chance will be excited to know he's going to be a father when he wakes up.  I'm sure he will be surprised but still happy.

How do you know that?  Ask Lexy.

Because when I found out I was going to be a father I was happy after I got over the fear of messing them up.  Anyway he chuckle they don't come with a hand book.  But they turned out great I think.

They did.  All our kids turned out great a little crazy but great says Rosa.

Hey, we get it from our Mama Lexy laughs.

I am tired  I finally admit so I should go home I want to see everyone else to. I missed all of them.  Randy you promise to call me if there is any change no matter the time.

Yes, I promise Lexy.  I'm spending the night with him since I been gone from him for awhile.  His mother will spend the night tomorrow. 

When I feel more rested will you put me into the rotation so I can stay with him also. 

Sure we can do that says Randy but only when you feel better.  We got to get my gran-baby here healthy. 

Come on Lexy says Rosa your father went to get the car.

Bye, Randy Lexy says with a smile and giving him a hug.

Lexy got home and to a little surprise party.  She was so happy to see her family.  Trevor hopped over to her on his crutches and gave her a huge hug.  Lexy even saw tears in his eyes.  When he finally let her out of the hug she looked up to see Zoey standing there.
