brandons pov
"you what?" my girlfriend stared at me with an unreadable expression on her face, hands on her hips. i sighed. "y/n, charlotte just needs somewhere to stay for a little while while her house is being exterminated!" i knew this wasn't a smart move, having my current and ex girlfriends in the same house, but i stupidly let it happen anyway. "i don't give a fuck! you let someone into our house without letting me know! and your ex of all people! god dammit brandon!" i've never seen such rage fill someone before as much as it filled y/n. i felt the guilt wash over me as i watched y/n tear up out of pure anger, her cheeks becoming flushed. i know it was more than anger just by her body language and i was about to argue with her before charlotte walked down our stairs and into the kitchen, humming softly. she looked over at me and giggled before grabbing her keys and leaving. i just sighed as y/n stared at me, heartbreak filling her eyes. if looks could kill, i'd dead times a million right now. i just stared at the floor and bit my lip as y/n yelled and yelled about how she feels betrayed and how absolutely disappointed she was with me. i was about to fight back when she said 5 words that broke me.
"this isn't going to work out." y/n mumbled before shifting her eyes from my face in order not to cry. "what?" my voice broke as thoughts of y/n and i not being together filled my mind. "brandon, please..." she began, voice strained, "don't make this any harder than it has to be." i just let out a shaky breath and nodded, even thought i didn't understand. "i'll stay at one of the boys' houses til saturday then come ba-" she cut me off. "no! brandon! you aren't listening to me! i want you to take charlotte and all your shit and get out of my house by tomorrow morning. im sick of this shit!" she wiped her eyes before getting up and leaving me. i just sat at the table and cried.
