y/n
i sighed as i stood at the door of my high school, waiting for my date. the music from the dance inside was blasting and i was here, sitting on the curb. i checked my phone and saw he was an hour and 30 minutes late and i felt like a total idiot.
i rolled my eyes as brandon and his friends walked out of the school, 4 out of the 5 having their suit jackets around a pretty female connected at their hip. i kept my eyes on the floor as i heard their shoes against the concrete, thinking they were gone. i looked up and met eyes with the one person i didn't want to see, brandon arreaga.
there he stood, charming and beyond attractive, just like he was when we dated just months prior. he smiled softly at me as he pulled out his phone, checking the time.
"so, where's your date?"
"he didn't show up."
"hmm... okay."brandon proceeded to sit next to me, humming along to the song that rang through the building behind us. i felt insecure as the mood shone on us, showing his beauty and all of my flaws. brandon broke the silence once again.
"you look beautiful, y/n."
"okay, b."third person
brandon frowned at the cold reply. he sighed as y/n shivered due to the cold temperature and all she has was a strapless dress. he pulled off his suit jacket and pulled it onto her, nodding as she smiled to herself. brandon grew bored rather quickly, jumping to his feet. he helped her up and played "Have I Told You Lately" by van morrison, singing along as he pulled her into him by her waist. a soft smile filled her face as their bodies swayed together, her face in his neck.
"have i told you lately that i love you
have i told you there's no one above you
fill my heart with gladness
take away my sadness
ease my troubles, that's what you do"
