austin always felt as though it was his job to support his friends. he was never one for large groups of people, parties, drinking, smoking, or anything of those sorts. he usually liked to stay home on friday nights and draw, paint, or write music for hours. that's until his best friend, y/n, begged him to go to this banger of a party at their friend zion's place.

austin was a wall-flower. he stood at the outer edges of parties, observing people as they drank and interacted with each other. he thought it was interesting. he stared down at the untied laces of his worn out vans, sighing. he leaned against the beige wall, smiling as y/n drunkenly waltzed over to him, two red solo cups on his hands. she smiled as she looked at the brunette, blushing as she handed him the cup.

"what is this?"
"just drink it, austin."
"no thanks, y/n. you know how i feel about alcoho-"
"austin! please, just relax! you're fine...i won't let anything happen to you."

austin rolled his eyes as he and y/n pinky promised, drinking from the cup and coughing as the liquor burned his throat. he already felt like the room was spinning. he was quite the lightweight.

after drinking, talking, and dancing for around an hour, austin and y/n somehow ended up going to a random bedroom. the two teens laughed as they made their way up the stairs, grabbing onto each other for support. austin's stupid guy friends wolf whistled as he clumsily pulled y/n towards the only vacant room, causing y/n to blush.

there was no doubt that austin was attractive. his hair was a soft hue, matching his beautifully brown toned eyes. he was always up for an adventure, no matter the time it was. y/n giggled to herself as she remembered the time her and austin ran around the mall at 11pm just earlier that week.

austin just smiled at the girl, getting lost in her eyes as soon as they met his. it was like time stopped, the music stopped, everything came to a halt as soon as they were together. they both leaned forward, meeting their lips with one another's. the love that filled that room that night melted all of their worries. it was as if fear didn't exist.
