Chapter 34-
It was now a Thursday and another two weeks passed with no calls or texts from Harry and the odd phone call from Niall. I was now into my third month of being Harry Styles' girlfriend. Only five months to go. I was at work on my lunch break when I got a call from Mark.
"Hello?"
"Hey Clara its Mark."
"Hey Mark. How are you?"
"Good thanks, and yourself?"
"Not too bad."
"Good. So Clara, I know its short notice but are you busy tonight?"
"No I don't think so. Why?"
"Great. Would it be possible for you to come down to my office tonight?"
"Sure, what time?"
"What time suits you best?"
"Well I don't get off work till 5 tonight so lets say around six? I'll come over straight after work."
"Six it is. Well I'll see you then miss Banks."
"Bye Mark." I said before ending the call.
The rest of the day went by pretty quick. After work I done as planned and drove straight to Mark's office block in greater London which wasn't too far from where I work except I got caught in traffic. It was around 6:15 by the time I arrived. I walked up to the desk to see a different lady sitting there from the one I saw last time.
"Hi, I'm here for a meeting with Mark."
"Miss Banks is it?" She smiled politely.
"Yeah."
"Go straight through. He's waiting for you."
"Thanks." I smiled before walking through to his office. I walked up to the door which had 'Mark Sheppard' Written on it. I knocked before I heard someone call "Come in."
I walked into the room to find Harry sitting at Mark's desk, once again playing on his phone.
"Harry, what are you doing here?"
"The same as you."
"Where's Mark?" I asked as I took a seat next to him.
"Making coffee in the next room." He mumbled without looking up from his phone.
"Why haven't you been in touch over the past couple weeks?"
"Oh sorry, how long did you say this questioner was gonna take?!" He raised his voice slightly with sarcasm once again as he finally looked up and faced me. I sighed and rolled my eyes at him as I sat back in the chair.
"Harry listen I-"
"Oh Clara you're here." Marks voice interrupted me as he walked in carrying a cup of coffee in each hand one for Harry and one for himself.
"Yeah, sorry I got caught up in traffic." I gave a little smile as he sat opposite me.
"It's fine, did you want a drink?" He asked as he handed Harry his mug.
"No I'm fine thanks."
"Okay, so how are you two getting along?" He asked as he sat at his desk opposite Harry and I.
"Great, we're getting along great. It's like we're an actual couple, right Haz?"
"Yeah." He said bluntly as he placed his phone on the desk and picked up his coffee.
"Good. At least you picked the right girl for yourself H." Mark said and Harry gave a small smile along with a nod.
"So what's this meeting about?" Asked Harry.
"Well after everything that's happened between Clara and Niall-"
"Mark I am so sorry about all of that, honestly, me and Niall are only friends and-" I interrupted him.
"Clara let him finish what he was saying." Harry interrupted me.
"Sorry." I said bluntly.
"It's okay. Now, as I was saying, after everything that's happened between you and Niall I think that its time you and Harry go out together and at least try and prove the paps wrong, especially because you two haven't really been in much contact over the past month."
"Okay, so what do you have in mind?" Asked Harry.
"Well what are you both doing Saturday night?"
"Nothing." Me and Harry both said in unison.
"Great, so why don't you both go to a club together? Have a few drinks? Just go and have a good time together, let your hair down. It would be a good way to show the paps that every things fine between the two of you and it will lift the worry of this cheating story off your shoulders."
"I don't know, nightclubs aren't really my thing." I said feeling unsure.
"Oh c'mon Clara, don't be such a bore! It'll be fun!" Said Harry. He knew that I wasn't going to end up having a good time that's why he wanted to go.
"Fine..." I sighed. "But I don't wanna stay there until like, 1am."
"No, don't worry, we'll stay till 4 instead." He winked and laughed as I fake laughed back.
"So this Saturday yeah? I'll leave it to you guys to pick which club." Mark smiled.
"Yep." Harry smiled.
We wrapped up the meeting and me and Harry left the building at the same time however it was quite obvious that he was straying further ahead to try and avoid me.
"Harry! Harry wait! I called out as he began to walk further across the parking lot to where the very familiar black range rover was parked.
"What do you want?!" He snapped as he turned around.
"Why are you avoiding me?" I asked in a small voice.
"There is actually no way you can be seriously asking me that right now." He scoffed whilst shaking his head and walking away again.
"Why though?" I asked trying to follow.
"Clara just piss off and quit wasting my time." He shooed me away with a wave of his hand as if I was some kind of animal begging for food.
"I'm not wasting your time. Why are you avoiding me?"
"Oh come on Banks! Are you really that dumb or is this all an act?! I don't have to spell it out!" He snapped turning to face me again. "You slapped me around the face! What do you expect me to react like?!"
"I only done that because I'm fed up of the way you talk to me Harry." I said staying calm.
"The way I talk to you?!" He laughed as if it was funny. "You deserve it." He said coldly before walking off to his car. I stood there and watched him as he got inside and drove away.
