Harley-

I woke up looking dazed and confused. "What?" I mumbled. I was in a bed inside a small white room. "Harley?" Someone asked. I looked around until I saw Gerard. "Gerard?" I asked. He jumped out of his chair and sped walked over to me. "Oh my god, you're finally awake!" He says excitedly, yet quietly.

I rose an eyebrow. "Remember what happened? You were attacked." He said. I thought for a moment. "Oh yeah. I remember now. What was that thing?" I asked. He sat down at the edge of my bed. "That thing is an evil beast. It was once a guardian here in the black parade, but it turned evil. So I had to banish it to a place called the great beyond.

It's a place where the banished go. But sometimes, at night, they sneak back in the black parade and attack anyone who might still be out and about." Gerard explained. I looked up at him. "You saved my life. That thing almost killed me. I wonder what would happen if I died here?" I said, saying that last part to myself.

Gerard bit his lip. "Yeah... about that." He began. I rose an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" I asked. He sighed. "You are dead." My eyes widen. "WHAT?!!" I screamed. Gerard wouldn't even look at me. "The beast did kill you. When I brought you to the hospital, you had several broken ribs, your back was broken, and you were losing a lot of blood.

After I laid you down, you closed your eyes and..." He bites his lip and he trailed off. I could see a tear rolling down his cheek. "I'm sorry. This is all my fault." His shaking voice said barley above a whisper. He sniffled. "I never should've brought you here." He said. "No. You have no idea how grateful I am!

Gerard, my dad was beating me. I couldn't go outside my house without the neighborhood bully jumping me. I was never safe no matter where I went. But then you saved me from it. And as dark and depressing as this sounds, I'm glad I'm dead now, because now, I don't ever have to go back." I explained.

He shook his head. "Don't glorify death. You still had your whole life ahead of you. Everyday I wish I were still alive. Yes, I can go to the living world for concerts, but the longer we stay there, the weaker we become. We can't stay in the living world for too long, otherwise, our souls will disappear forever.

No one here or in the living world will see or hear from us again if we're not careful." Gerard explained. My eyes widened and I sat up to hug him. But then I noticed something. "I thought you said my back and ribs were broken?" I asked. He nods.

"They are. On your body. What's here now is your soul. That's why you're no longer in pain." He explained. I nodded and hugged him tighter. "I'm so sorry, Gee. I don't want you to disappear." I said, my eyes watering. He puts one hand over mine. "I won't, Harley, I promise. He says.

He turns so that he is facing me and returns my hug. He pulls away, just a little bit, so that we can look at each other. "Now that you're dead, I think it's time we welcome you properly." He said with a smirk. "What do you mean?" I asked. He puts his thumb and index finger on my chin. "It's time to sing your song." And with that, he kissed me!
