This chapter lists all the characters and places included in "Binary Love". It also includes the meanings behind the names, or what the names might be referencing.

Andromeda: One of the space ships in the Volos' fleet. The name is from greek mythology, referencing Andromeda who's name means "I protect, rule over" / "ruler of men". It is used as the main defence for Volos settlements, and is currently circling Arcadia.

Amaruq Tumen: A beta Lupus capture and experimented on. Mated to Eldon. Amaruq means 'grey wolf'.

Atlantis: The flag ship of the Volos' fleet - home to their rulers - it is rumoured to be the root of the Volos race. The ship settles on worlds, and has the ability to terraform planets at an alarming speed. It is unclear whether the translation is a coincidence, however some speculate that the ship is in fact the Atlantis referenced in Greek Mythology. This would explain the multiple links between the Volos and Earth mythology, but also similar deities that appear in other species' folklore / religion / mythology.

Cercopes Lair: A messy collection of space stations and stolen ships, that provide a [somewhat] safe haven for only the most accomplished criminals in IA space. Tucked away in Beta Quadrant 5, it rests near officially uncharted space, but close enough to major travel lines for ease and for illegal opportunities. It houses a lucrative black market. Exact reports of Cercopes Lair are vague and closely guarded, to the point that some IA officials vehemently deny it's existence.

Doctor Rosalind Asena: A doctor specialising in DNA of various alien species, and a close friend to Nova Williams. They met during their time working together at Earth Tech, quickly bonding over their love of science and for both being orphans. Rosalind is married to, and the mate of, Harou Asena. [The character is named after Rosalind Elsie Franklin (25 July 1920 – 16 April 1958), who was an English chemist and X-ray crystallographer who made contributions to the understanding of the molecular structures of DNA, RNA, viruses, coal, and graphite.]

Dr. Haber: An Earth Tech scientist, that specialised in chemistry. His lack of knowledge around nanotechnology thankfully delayed Earth Tech from understanding and weaponising Blue. (Named after Fritz Haber, a German chemist that is also known as the "father of chemical warfare" due to his invention leading to large scale synthesis of fertilisers and explosives. His poisons were used in the gas chambers during the holocaust. They were also later rebranded and used as pesticides in industrial farming. The character symbolises morals and processes that are in complete opposition to what the Volos stand for).

Earth Tech: A leading company in all things science, it is the main research organisation for the IA. There are rumours that the company prioritises anything that could benefit humans, although there is no evidence to support this claim. Publicly, they are hailed as a philanthropist company, that funds the education of many orphans to later offer them a job for life.

The Gamma Quadrant Orgy: A Ryujin orgy of fabled proportions that had spread through rumours to other Quadrants. It was actually an undercover raid to arrest a Blue dealer in the red light district, but it quickly got out of hand when a couple of undercover Ryujin officer's pheromones accidentally triggered a mating frenzy. It resulted in a surge of popularity for Ryujin mates in brothels and red light districts across the galaxy. Allegedly, Itsuki was somehow involved, leading to the Volos taking special interest in him.

Faolán Station: The space station based in Delta Quadrant 4, and is home to Nova Williams. It is the main base of operations for the current Terra Forming project. [The name Faolán means "little wolf", derived from Gaelic fáel "wolf".] At the helm is Captain Faolán, of House Tartarus.
