I wake up in the middle of the night by Four tossing and turning beside me. I groan.

"What the hell, Four?" I whisper loudly. I notice that his eyes are closed and that he is sweating.

"Four." I try to shake him awake. "Four."

"What? What?" His eyes are bloodshot and wide.

"You were having a nightmare, weren't you?" I ask, sitting up.

"What? N-"

"Oh please, I know how people react to a nightmare. Tell me what was happening?" The question comes out more as a command more than a question.

"No, can we just go back to bed?" He lays down and turns to face me as I lay down as well.

I close my eyes and Four's arm wraps around my waist and pulls me close to him.

"Is it okay if I hold you?" I nod due to being shocked yet feeling secure.

I close my eyes again and his grip tightens as he moves so close to me that I am pretty sure that there is not space between the two of us.

. . .

"Beatrice, why is this door locked?" I wake to the sound of my mothers loud banging on my door. "Get up, Beatrice. You need to start walking to school in 20 minutes. Don't be late."

I notice that Four isn't next to me anymore. I turn to the window that is slightly open, allowing the cold air to breeze into my bedroom. There is a small note. It reads:

Tris,

Thanks for letting me crash at your place last night. I had to leave to get ready for school. Maybe I'll see you there, maybe not. Talk to you whenever.

Four~

I nod and throw the small letter into the top drawer of my dresser and walk to my closet. I pull out a long sleeve pajama shirt and a pair of sweatpants. i'm not really in the mood to get dressed up for school today. I walk to my bathroom and wash up.

As I walk back into my room, I start to put my hair in a messy ponytail and slip on my black vans. I walk to my desk and grab my backpack and binder. As I unplug my phone, I see that Four's thin black jacket that he let me borrow yesterday is on the back of my desk chair. I pick it up and shove it into my backpack along with textbooks.

"I'm heading to school. You skipping today?" I ask Caleb as I walk down the hall, toward the stairs.

"No, I'm just not going to attend the first 4 periods." I nod at is answer and I walk down the stairs. I see that my mom's keys aren't on the hooks neither is my fathers which means that they already left for work.

I start to walk to school with my ear buds in and listening to music. I arrive at school 5 minutes late for first period, which means I have to stand in the back of my French class. Ms.Young, my French teacher, has this rule that if you are late to her class you must stand for the rest of the class.

"Late." I get told by the one or two freshmen that sit in the front of the class.

"Shut the fuck up, fish." I say as I walk past them.

"Beatrice, 20 push ups." That's another rule that is only for me. I curse alot on some days and every time I curse, my track coach, made a rule and that is for every bad word I say, I have to do 20 push ups.

I walk to the back of the class and set my things down on the table. I push my long sleeves up my arms and I start with my push ups.

"I don't hear you counting, Prior." Ms.Young announces.
