Min Yoongi was never the type to work outside the confinements of his home. It was a den more than anything, littered with filled-up notebooks, unfinished assignments and wiring for the full surround sound system running across the floor and the walls. It wasn't that he hated working outside, or that he was 'allergic' to the light as Hoseok would put it, it was just positively impossible to find concentration in places where people would stare or hide their children from him because of his breed.
Yes, being a Canis lupus occidentalis, the biggest breed of wolf known to man, did not make life easy, even if he did make it a point to stay out of his hybrid form. Hoseok and Namjoon were wolves too, but they were C. lupus rufus and C. lupus arctos respectively so they didn't get even half the wide-eyed gawking and dirty looks that Yoongi did. Which is why they had no problem working outside. None at all. And because they lived in a democracy, well, majority ruled.
"Jin's done a really good job with the place," Hoseok cooed, his eyes roving appreciatively around the interior of the little cafeteria Jin, Namjoon's boyfriend, had bought out and restored into a 50's retro American-style diner inspired by his favourite movie, Grease.
"Where is he, by the way?" Yoongi asked, finally settling into the plush seat and all-too-aggressively placing his laptop on the table. His agitation upon entering the diner had eased somewhat since nobody seemed to have noticed his presence yet, or perhaps it was his lupine friends who were masking his scent.
The place wasn't completely full since it was only opening day, but it wasn't empty either. Yoongi caught the distinctive scent of a reptilian couple some tables behind him although the most dominant odour of all was definitely feline, which made complete sense given that Jin was a Panthera tigris tigris.
"I think he's giving the staff a final pep talk," Namjoon answered, pulling out his own laptop to place on the table. It was an old thing, cracked and dented in numerous places, with the hinges seeming to be hanging on for dear life; Yoongi could hardly imagine how some of them had happened, which made it all the more surprising that it worked like a charm.
"I'd hate to fall victim to one of Jin's pep talks," Hoseok scoffed, earning him a punch on the arm from the Bengal Tiger himself when he appeared from behind Yoongi.
"I'll have you know I'm very motivational," Jin retorted, moving to plant a kiss on Namjoon's cheek before standing upright. Despite the pastel colour scheme of the diner, Jin wore dark clothes lined with floral patterns of gold that somehow accentuated the sheer broadness of his shoulders and made him look a tad taller than usual.
Yoongi did not at first notice the second person trailing behind the owner, a man of small height and slender waist with peachy hair and partly into his hybrid form. He was definitely felidae, a Minuet Cat if Yoongi didn't know better, and infinitely smaller than the owner who put an arm around his shoulder and coaxed him forward.
The man's eyes were wide with curiosity and his tail flicked this way and that out of the petite blue shorts of his uniform. They were far too skin-tight to look innocent but the baby blue was enough to make one feel guilty for staring. The shirt was the same blue with a bit more white at the seams and buttons, the collar dipping low enough that Yoongi could see the juncture of the man's neck but not low enough to be considered suggestive. To top it all off, he was wearing a white collar with a little golden bell hanging from it that just added to that innocently feline look. It didn't help that his smile was probably the brightest, sweetest thing Yoongi had ever seen in his life.
"Boys, this is Jimin," Jin introduced the man who was now standing patiently in front of him. "He'll be your server for today." Jimin dipped into a low bow at the wolves, the movement just allowing Yoongi to see where his tail peeped out at the base of his spine. "In case it isn't obvious enough, he's a domestic breed so be gentle with him."
