You climbed the stairs and walked into your apartment, locking it behind you and heading straight for your room.
You don't turn on the light but leave the door open so the light from the living room filters in. You see his silhouette on the bed, facing away from the door.
You crawl onto the bed and spoon him, you being the big spoon and kissed his head. "I'm home baby. I'm so sorry."
He laid there, still as a rock. Not giving in to any warmth.
You stroked his hair and tried to reassure him further. You put your hand on his arm to try and hug him from the side but as you did, his hand grabbed your wrist.
"Get off of me." He said through gritted teeth. You withdrew your hand and tried to put distance between yourself and him.
So the direct attempts didn't work, but you thought maybe gestures would help.
You go into the kitchen and make him a cup of his favourite hot chocolate and put two biscuits on a plate, bringing them into the room and putting them on his bedside table in front of him.
You crouched down and tried to make eye contact but his eyes were held closed.
You whisper, "Hey Tai, I'm so sorry about before. I should have texted you. I've made you a cup of tea, you don't have to drink it. I'm going for a shower and then I'll come to bed okay."
You lean over to kiss him lightly on the head and hop in the shower.
By the time you're out of the shower and changed, you don't see his silhouette anymore. The drink and biscuits gone.
You walk into the living room calling, "Tai?" When you hear a noise from the kitchen, you go to him.
You walk in on him scraping the biscuits into the bin. "Oh babe, I'm sorry." You say.
He doesn't say a word but his jaw sticks out more than usual.
"Come to bed with me?" You ask him. He froze in his tracks and his eyes flicked to yours, the intensity in his scaring you.
"No thanks," he looked away.
"Baby, please," You said, stepping towards him to put your hands on his face so he would look at you.
But when you did he grabbed both of your wrists. "Ouch, Tai, that's a little tight."
He squeezed his hands tighter, making you grimace. "Don't. Don't play innocent. I know what you were doing. You stayed behind just so you could be driven home by Yoongi. I get it. You like him. That's fine, I'll get out of your way." He lets go finally and you rub your wrists to get rid of the pain.
He turned his back on you but you carried on, "What? We were just working on the songs, I wouldn't have stayed otherwise. You're the one I want to spend time with, we were working. Obviously I don't like Yoongi that way."
He turned suddenly, making you jump. "You don't even see it. You're all over him, you have inside jokes and you sit too close together. You look at him with those eyes and he has this kind of ownership over you. I'm done. I'm done being second best you can have each other."
"What?! This is crazy I- I dont like him that way - I love you!" You plead.
But he had already made up his mind. "I'm going to stay at Sooni's, we can talk about this tomorrow."
Sooni was his best friend who lived opposite our house. "No! Please don't go, don't leave me alone!" You made one last attempt.
He was stood by the door but turned to look at you, hurt in his eyes. "What? Like you left me alone?"
You feel his words hurt you deep in the chest as he leaves with his stuff, ignoring your calls to him. You cried yourself to sleep that night.
The next morning, at work you are with a group of other staff at BigHit, waiting in the break room for work to start.
"You okay (y/n)? You're quiet today?" People ask.
"Oh yeah, I'm just tired." Is your automatic response.
Later, more staff arrive and eventually Bang PD enters the room followed by all 7 members, yoongi making eye contact with you and smiling, but you hesitated to smile back, you knew Tai was somewhere in the room too
The CEO of this entire place gave a speech about the plan for today, telling us the first meeting of today would be production. This included you.
You get up and grasp the coffee that had been warming your hands for the past hour and head for the meeting room, following the couple of others.
When you go into the room there are a few others around the table, some worked in recordings and the head of the stylist team.
Yoongi comes in and smiles when he sees you, sitting next to you. "Hey."
"Hey," You reply, unenthusiastically.
He chuckles at your energy levels, "I feel the same. Too early,". You just chuckle in response, avoiding eye contact and staring at your cup as if it was an artefact from a museum.
At least fifteen more people come in but just as you thought the room was finally full, one more person entered, making your face feel warm.
You try and meet eyes with him but he purposefully avoids you and sits across the table from you.
During the meeting, you and Yoongi showcase the finalized main tracks and discuss the sound of each one, how it could be styled and how it fits into the storyline,
"It sounds just right for the album." Bang PD had concluded, "great work, all of you." He called a five minute break before we came back to talk about music videos and concepts etc.
You make eye contact with Tai as conversation begins in groups in the room. You push the plate of snacks that had been next to you, over the table and toward him, lifting an eyebrow to tease him.
But he just stared blankly and got up and left the room, without a word. You let your head fall in disappointment. "(Y/N), what are you doing?" Yoongi laughs.
But then you lift your head and he sees your eyes filling with tears. "Oh no, I'm sorry, should I go get Tai?" He asks, uncomfortable with the emotion.
You scoff and then wipe the tears before they fall. "That's the problem, I can't."
"Oh, what happened?"
"To be honest....I dont know. He..it doesn't matter." You say and take a deep breath trying to recover.
"No tell me-" Yoongi was interrupted by the return of Bang PD, and the meeting resumed, Tai joining a few minutes later.
While we were talking about choreo, Tai was making a few points about changes to choreo and you couldnt look at him, keeping your head down.
"Wait, you want to make the choreography...harder? How does it get any harder than IDOL?" Yoongi asked, rhetorically,
Tai scoffed, rolling his eyes, "that was the trickiest you've ever done but in the world of dance, that choreography was...simple."
Yoongi rolled his eyes, "but the fans don't necessarily want harder anyway, they want to see something real. Genuine. Natural. As long as it fits us as a group, then I'm happy."
Tai sits back, and you can see the anger coating his exterior like a pungent varnish. "Alright but it has to look good, if its too easy, they'll think your slacking."
"Alright, boys, calm it. There's always a middle way." Bang mediated, saving the day.
When the meeting was finally over, it was lunchtime. "What you doing for lunch?" You ask Yoongi.
"I was thinking...ramen?" You smile, he knew how obsessed you are with ramen.
"Mind if I tag along?" He smirked.
"Not at all." He says, while both of you were packing your stuff away.
"Ouch, what did you do?" Yoongi asks, pointing to a purple bruise on your forearm. You look at it for a second, taking it in. You didn't realise that was there.
"Oh I just..walked into a door. As per usual." You laugh and, to your relief, as does Yoongi.
"Sounds like you."
When you had grabbed your ramen from the place opposite BigHit Offices, Yoongi suggested you should both sit in the public food court eating area, so you did, both snuggling into coats that kept out the cold.
"(Y/N)?" He asks and you look up from your ramen suddenly.
"What?"
"You didn't hear a word I just said did you?" He laughs, luckily not taking offence. "Sorry, I'm just a bit up in the clouds. I didn't know you were talking." You tell him and try to chuckle but it doesn't sound convincing.
"(Y/N), you know a problem shared is a problem halved. Maybe just talking about stuff will lessen the weight."
You smile at his kind words. "Who knew you were so soft, Yoongi." You laugh.
He smiled his goofy smile, "Hey, I'm a little hard on the exterior but I'm a nice person."
"Yes you are." You tell him and he looks at you expectantly, wanting you to go on.
You exhale loudly, "When I got in yesterday...Tai...was really mad. It's so stupid but he thinks you and I..have a ..thing and that's actually why we stayed late. Which is so dumb because obviously we were just trying to do a good job for the company and he stayed at his friends house because he didn't want to see me."
"Oh...right." He replies, "That's why he was being cold this morning." Yoongi stares down at his ramen, in thought. "I'm sorry I got you in trouble." He looks serious and remorseful.
"oh yoongi stop, dont do that. You did nothing wrong, Tai is just...insecure."
Yoongi continues to stare at his ramen as though he doesn't believe me. You put you hand on his so he looks up at you. His eyes glistened in the winter sun as you said, "I'm serious Min Yoongi."
He smiles and you are satisfied so you both carry on eating your ramen.
On the way back to the office, you catch a glimpse of Tai, on the opposite side of the city fountain, walking away from the offices.
"Hey, Yoongi, I hate to do this but I'm going to go talk to Tai," you point at where he was walking. "Are you alright going back to the office?"
Yoongi nods and smiles a smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes. "Go do what you have to do."
"Thanks bro," you say and leave him to go and grovel to your stubborn boyfriend.
