KENNEDY'S POV

"oh my god!" i was jolted out of my sleep as a herd of people came dashing into the room and toward me. i groaned as i sat up giving my eyes a rub, they trail to the chair by the side of my bed which was now vacant.

"i'm so glad you're okay!" Chas wrapped me up in a hug. letting out a light laugh i return her gesture.

"you do know me right?" Charity said in a jokey tone but still sounded serious. i nodded in her direction as she beamed a huge smile and ran up and joined the hug.

"the doctor said my memory for the minute would be here and there, some things and people i'll remember and the rest i won't" i sighed looking down as the hug was broke.

"you haven't forgotten me right?" a small voice came from behind Paddy and Cain. i gave her a light warming smile, waving my arms over for her to join me.

"of course not, i could never" i say hugging sarah tight. she nestles into my side. the moment was quickly brought to a stop when the door to my room opened again revealing two police officers.

"hi miss dingle, we just wanted to ask some questions about the accident" i nodded to them as my family walked to the other side of the room.

"okay. do you remember any of the events that happened before the incident" one of the officers asked while the other had his notebook open and a pen in his hand. i look at my lap trying to recall what happened before.

"all i can remember is going to the pub, i don't remember why or who i spoke to or who was there" i shook my head, feeling dreadful for not being able to remember.

"we have spoken to a few people who were at the woolpack, they said you ran out looking very distressed. does that sound familiar to you?"

"no, i only remember going in and before i was hit" i said sternly, the thought of me not being able to remember things that evidently happened was beginning to freak me out.

"do you remember any details that could help in this investigation? the car, who was driving? anything"

i was just about to send the text to someone when i heard the revs from a car engine, i turned around to see who was revving their engine like crazy, all i see is the headlights closer and the car wasn't slowing down, then i was hit.

"it-it was a silver ford, like and older model, i can't remember who was driving, i couldn't get a proper look."

the officers asked a few more questions before they finally left, relief flooding my body. the whole situation was just unnecessary stress. i needed someone here right now, someone who made me feel safe.

"i- i need joe here please" when the name came off of my lips the whole room, excluding sarah and debbie, dropped their jaws at me.

"you remember joe huh" cain let out a sarcastic laugh. i looked at him with confusion.

"um yeah, he was here yesterday. i don't know how i know him but, i don't know." i shook my head not knowing how to put what i was thinking in a sentence. debbie excuses herself as she leaves the room to phone joe.

THIRD PERSON POV

"hi joe it's debbie"  she said down the phone and she sat on a chair down the hall, her leg nervously shaking up and down.

"how is she?"

"you know, she's not great" debbie sighs resting her chin in her palm. joe just lets out a short sigh down the phone. "she wants you here"

"sh-she does?" he said in a shocked voice. "she remembers me?" this sentence broke debbie's heart, she thought the whole hospital would've heard the shatter.

"uh not exactly" it pained her to say, joe replied with a quick 'i'll be there soon' before abruptly hanging up the phone. debbie stayed in her position for a good couple of minutes before returning to the room.

.............................

it had been a measly 30 minutes since everyone left, leaving kennedy alone with her thoughts, wondering if and when joe would come. she immediately sat up her eyes looking at the door as someone came in. it definitely wasn't joe. she couldn't pinpoint where she knew him from, but she wasn't getting good vibes.

"hello, i heard about the accident and wanting to come see how you are" the boy said, smirking, but not a sincere happy smirk, a cold, almost evil looking smirk.

"what's your name" she said swallowtail the saliva that was starting to gather in the mouth. he walked closer as kennedy shuffles back on the bed.

"i cant believe you don't remember me" he laughed putting an emphasis on the 'me'. she was quickly becoming uncomfortable, he didn't have a nice presence. "i'm lachlan, lachlan white" he said as if i should know him very well.

"what the hell are you doing in here?" i directed my attention to the new voice at the door. i couldn't hold back my smile.

'finally' i fought to myself.
