Chapter 7: "Lets take things slow"

JOE'S POV

"Listen..." I begin not knowing what words are about to fly out of mouth.

"Since I first met you, it's like you've changed me." I start "I'm sure you've heard about my past" I say with a light chuckle. "I let Jimmy and Robert have the business back fully, I've tried to set things right with your family, I've offered to pay Ross's rent, he still doesn't really trust me. But I'm trying, you make me want to try to be a better person" I smile at her.

She smiles with a huge grin "I'm glad to hear this, if you didn't do this sooner I would've made you" She jokes laughing, making me smile. Her smile is so contagious.

"I really like you Ken" I admit

"I like you too Joe. But let's take things slow, I don't want to rush into anything yet" she gives me a sad smile. I nod looking away slightly

"Hey, that doesn't mean we have to wait agars, just take it slow" she tucks a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear. I find myself nodding again

"Deal" I smirk

She rolls her blue eyes. "Anyway I need to get changed and head to Ashley's memorial" she runs upstairs.

"She really has brought out a better side to you" I hear Graham speak from the kitchen.

"Is not polite to eavesdrop Graham" I say seriously but let out a small chuckle at the end.

KENNEDY'S POV

"Why does choosing an outfit have to be so hard" I rolls my eyes looking through my clothes.

I hold a long black dress up to my body looking in the mirror, making a disgusted face "Ew no" I say chucking it on the huge pile of 'NO'S'

I then pick out a mid thigh, tight black long sleeve dress, smiling I throw it on.

"Perfect" I say looking down at my watch.

"Crap" I curse, I needed to leave now or I'd be late.

I grab my bag off the bed and quickly throw some black boots on before running down the stairs.

"Woah slow down" laughed Joe watching me nearly loosing my footing about 20 times

"I'm going to be late!" I grabbed his biceps shaking him gently.

"I called you a taxi" he smiled "you'll get there in time"

"Thank you!" I said to him wrapping my arms around his neck giving him a hug, pulling away and giving him a quick peck.

"See you soon!" I say rushing out the door and into taxi giving him the place of the memorial.

I wipe my eyes as tears flow from them after Gabby and Arthur's speech.

I wrap my arm around Gabby "that was amazing Gab!"

"Thank you" she said wiping her eyes "are you staying for the window reveal?" She asked

"Of course I am!" I say as we walk to the hall where everyone else was gathered

I was stood with Gabby as I see Laurel walk out the doors.

"I'll be back okay, I'm going to make sure Laurel okay" I smile at her before following Laurel seeing her head into the pirate ship.

I walk towards it wrapping my arms around myself to keep myself warm, as I get outside the door, I hear two voices from inside.

I grip the handle opening the door "Laurel are y-" I freeze and my mouth drops at the sight.
