The day for Winter Formal came.
Lizzie, Chelsea and I agreed to meet at my house to change and prepare there.
We did each others make-up, hair and everything else.
After we were done, we looked wonderful (if I do say so myself).
Lizzie looked so charming, Chelsea looked so seductive and I looked well... pretty.
A few minutes later, the boys arrived. They looked totally handsome in their tuxedos.
And surprise, surprise. They came in a limo. A sleek, black limo. I couldn't help but laugh. I mean, I've always wanted to ride on a limo with friends while going to prom or something, but I didn't expect it'd really happen.
"Who rented the limo?" I asked as soon as they came in.
"We all did. Each of us contributed money for it," Chaz answered and put his arm around Chelsea.
"Cool," Chelsea said, then elbowed him and pointed to Innes and Lizzie's direction.
I looked and I can see what she means.
They were laughing and holding hands. Everything between them was really OK now. Innes put a Queen Anne's lace on her hair as she tickled him and ran away when he tried to kiss her.
I couldn't help but smile.
My dad took the camera and we did poses.
"Wacky faces, people!" Chelsea announced as she pulled off a duck face. I looked like an awkward duck.
"Hey, you're still cute," Carter smiled at me as dad told him to put an arm around my shoulder. He did as we as told and I can't help but wish he was Adrian.
Damn, I'm complicated.
When my mom came out, everyone seemed to understand since we all quickly went out and inside the limo.
Inside, we were all snug and it was larger than I expected.
Before we sped away, I looked at Adrian's house. The lights were turned off, so I guess he must have went early.
When we arrived at our school aditorium, I marveled at its transformation.
Pink and skyblue ribbons were hung everywhere, with tables covered in red clothing with gold accents. Lanterns were hung all around giving it a magical glow.
It looked so beautiful.
Chaz led us to a table near the speakers. It had a really great view of the dance floor. Chelsea sat down beside Chaz as Innes got us some champagne. Lizzie sat beside as I sat beside Carter. It was cute, really.
And then I saw him. Not the bogeyman. Adrian.
He looked really handsome in his black suit, with his hair slicked back. He was almost perfect. Almost.
If it wasn't for Evangeline being all clingy and seductive in her low cut dress showing off awesome cleavage and killer thighs.
But it was too easy to see Adrian's discomfort. He kept glancing towards our direction, a longing expression on his face.
As the night progressed, Adrian finally got away from Evangeline's grasp.
He came to our table when Carter went out to grab us some drinks, and Chelsea, Chaz, Lizzie and Innes were out on the dance floor.
"You ready?" he took my cold hands.
"What about Carter?" I looked around for any sign of Carter.
