The next days that followed passed by like a breeze.
Adrian and I constantly texted and visited each other and went to other places and of course, drop by Katrina's room every afternoon.
Evangeline finally stopped trying to get Adrian's attention. But her family still gives support to Adrian's since Evangeline's parents are fond of Katrina.
Everything went well. Adrian and I practiced together for the last part of the competition.
Actually, he practiced. I wanted to keep my piece a secret until the competition.
"Oh come on, why won't you tell me?" He asked me one time when we were lying around in his room.
"Because it's a secret," I smiled.
"That's just unfair," He pouted. I laughed. He looked so cute!
"No, it's not. No one told you to practice with me," I poked his cheek and stood up to get refreshments for both us.
"Fine, fine. You win," He held both his hands up, surrendering.
And that's how we spent the Christmas vacation. Cute, right?
Before we knew it though, it was over.
We were back to school and well, I gotta admit it.
School seems a bit brighter now, since I'm now with Adrian and not merely fantasizing (in a good way) about me and him being together.
"Hey, how's it going?" Chelsea asked. Chaz was beside her.
"Fine. Great. Both," I smiled nervously. This is the first day of school that Adrian and I are well... official.
"We're doing great. I see you two are too," he saved me. I love him so much.
"Anyways, have both of you heard the announcement from the MDO?" Chaz asked.
"No. What is it?" I asked back.
"That's why I'm asking you..." He replied. Well, that's awkward.
A minute later, Innes and Lizzie arrived. They looked so perfect together.
"Hey guys, Miss Higgins told us to come into her office. Carter's already there," Innes said as he reached us.
Together we proceeded to the office, but Chelsea had to wait outside.
As we entered, I saw Carter arranging some paperwork. As soon as he saw us come in, he smiled and waved.
I guess he really knew that Adrian and I were going somewhere else and it was all right with him.
"Take a seat everyone. And thank you, Carter," Miss Higgins came in.
Everyone took a seat.
"Why'd you call us here?" Chaz asked.
"To announce the one thins we didn't include in the competition details," Miss Higgins aid.
"And what is that?" I asked.
"Don't tell me not even one of you is thinking what the winner would get," she smiled mischievously.
We looked at each other. Of course. The prize.
"What would it be then?" Adrian's eyes were full of anticipation.
"The third placer will get 5,000 $, while the second placer will get 10,000 $," she told us.
"Yes, but what does the winner get?" Adrian's patience was wearing out.
"The winner gets 50,000$ and a scholarship to his college or university of choice," she smiled triumphantly now, knowing that is the one thing we all needed.
