As I walked into the new campus I looked around to see if i could find the girl with the fiery red hair. When I spot her I run up yelling her name she turns around and opens her arms out.
"Hey you little rascal how was your summer?" She asked
"My summer was fine it was nice to spend it with my family and a few of my friends." I said
"That's great Jean I'm glad you had fun" She said
'How's Finn?" I asked
"He's fine I think we didn't talk much this summer" She said
"Are you guys okay?" I asked
"I don't know Jean we had this big argument before the school year ended" She said I looked at her and gave her a sad smile
"I'm sorry Lillian I really wish you guys the best" I said
"Enough about Finn and I" She said
"What classes are you taking?" I asked
"Creative Writing, English Literature, World Religion, and Biology. I said
"Why are you taking so many classes?" She asked
"I need a couple more credits to graduate early" I said
"Have you spoken to your parents about graduating early?" She asked I felt the color drain my face because I hadn't told anyone about my family crisis
"Yeah they know about graduation" I said
"Are they going to come?" She asked
"Um I honestly don't know because since it's early they might not find any flights or anything" I said
"Hopefully they get to make it you are their only child they should feel proud" She said
"They are proud" I said. We continued walking to the dorms to settle in again
"I really wish you would have let us get that apartment last year" She said
"I couldn't afford it you know that" I said
"I told you I would have paid for it" She said
"It doesn't feel right to me to have you pay for everything" I said
"What if we made a deal?" She asked
"What kind of deal?" I asked
"What if we got the apartment and get a couple roommates and we will pay the rent and you'll pay cable bills and groceries" She said
"I'll think about it" I said she smiled and hugged me
"I'll start looking around because I know you will say yes" She said
"Okay just promise me you'll get something close to campus and our jobs" I said
"Alright I'll figure something out" She said we started unpacking our things into the corresponding places i finished before her so i went outside to call my grandparents my grandma answered in the second ring
"Hey Jean how was your flight back to campus?" She asked
"It was good I miss you guys" I said
"We miss you too pumpkin" She said
"Where's grandpa and Emmy?" I asked
"Grandpa went to the shop and Emmy is taking her nap" She said
"Thank you for taking care of her I have to go but I'll call her later through skype" I said
"I'll let her know that you will call later" She said
"I love you grandma" I said
"I love you too Jean" She said I hung up and went back inside the dorm room
"Where'd you go?" Lillian asked
"I had to make a phone call" I said
"Finn called me when you were outside" She said
"What did he want?" I asked
"He wanted to meet at our usual place" She said
"Are you going to go?" I asked
"Yeah just to see what he wants" She said
"Do you want me to drive you there?" I asked
"No I think I'm going to walk to clear my head before getting there" She said
"Okay call me when you get there" I said
"I will bye love you lots" She said once she was out the door
I decided not to stay in the room alone because I didn't like the silence so I walked to the coffee shop in the center of campus I sat in one of the outdoor table sipping my tea
"Can I sit with you?" A guy asked I looked up from my phone to see who it was
"Um yeah sure go ahead" I said I knew him around campus and in some of my classes from last year
"You're that girl that's always drawing in her notebook in class" He said
"Yeah I'm always drawing" I said He smiled at me and sipped his black coffee
"So where's your friend?" He asked
"She's on a date with her boyfriend" I said
"Why aren't you with your boyfriend?" He asked
"I don't have one" I said looking down at my phone feeling embarrassed
"That's a shame" He said
"How so?" I asked looking up at him to find him already looking at me
"It's a shame because no one has won your heart" He said
"Is that how you pick up all your conquest?" I asked
"No I'm not like that" He said
"Sure you're not" I said getting up he grabbed my wrist and stopped me from walking away
"I'll prove you wrong love" He said letting me go
