Chapter Seven

"I'll pick you up after my class" He said

"How long is your class?" I asked

"Two hours. How about yours?" he asked

"Two hours as well" I said

"So I'll pick you up" He said kissing my cheek

I walked to my lecture hall and sat down there were a few people sitting down already so I Sat down In the far corner of the room while the professor settled in I took out my notebook the professor passed around a syllabus

"Most of this class will be based on this syllabus and journal prompts my name is professor Lance my email is at the very top of the paper and You can email me any questions or concerns you may have" Professor Lance said

"Will we know what our journal prompt in advance?" I asked

"No just like the exams the prompts will be random the only ones you will know about are the first and last one" He said

I stood quiet looking at my syllabus surely enough I found the first prompt

'Who inspires you the most?'

"How are we supposed to do this?" A kid asked in the front

"That's a very good question Jonah, it's simple write whatever comes to mind any person or thing that inspires you write about it" Professor Lance said I looked down at my notebook thinking I could write about anyone in my life like my daughter or my parents and even my grandparents but instead I found myself writing about Oliver by the time I was finished the professor called time

"By the end of the week you guys should have 3 entries in your journal and I will collect it" He said and dismissed the class

"So how was your world religion class?" Oliver asked

"It was good" I said

"You seem disappointed" He said

"I was expecting something different" I said

"Like what?" He asked

"Something more based on world religion and not journaling" I said

"It's the first day love things will change" He said looking hopeful I nodded and we walked toward the little mall across the street from campus

"So what do you need to buy?" He asked

"A journal new sketch books and other things" I said

"I need a new notebook and this specific book for my psych class" He said we walked into barnes and noble and went immediately into the back section where they had the university books Oliver got his book

"I love it here" I said

"Yeah it's very peaceful here" He said

"I used to spend my nights here" I said

"So what will you be cooking for me tonight?" I asked

"It's a surprise" He said

"Come on don't do that" I said

"A little surprise in your life won't hurt you" He said

"I guess you're correct" I said he laughed

"I have to find a journal" He said

"So do I and a sketchbook" I said
We walked towards the front of the story to get the journals and my sketchbook

"I'll pay for everything" He said

"No it's fine I've got it" I said we argued back and forth before the lady at the register interrupted us

"Just let your boyfriend pay honey" She said

"Um he isn't my boyfriend" I said Oliver took the opportunity and swiped his card he smiled as he put his pin in the machine

"I would like to be her boyfriend but she won't allow me the chance" He said the lady laughed and gave Oliver his receipt he took the bags

"Why didn't you let me pay?" I asked

"Because I wanted to pay" He said

"You're impossible to deal with" I said

"Yet you still hang out with me" He said

"We've only been friends for a day" I said

"That's besides the point" He said

"Where do you live?" I asked

"Not far like 20 minutes away" He said

"Are we walking?" I asked

"Yes I left my car didn't think you would actually agree" He said

"That's fine" I said as we left the bookstore

"I can drive you home afterwards" He said as I texted Lillian to let her know that I wouldn't have dinner with her she texted back saying that it was okay and that she was actually going out

"Yeah that's okay" I said looking up from my phone he smiled and we continued to wake to his apartment

When we reached his apartment complex he held the door open for me

"Even though the building looks huge my apartment is quite small" He said as we stepped into the elevator

"This must cost you a fortune" I said

"I have a TA job" He said

"I was going to apply for a TA job" I said we got off the elevator and walked to his front door

"You should apply for an actual teaching job as a art teacher" He said opening the door

"For a small apartment you have everything a person could possible want" I said

"I try to make this apartment feel like home" He said dropping his keys in a bowl by the door

"So what are we eating?" I asked

"I'm not telling you but I want to know if you are allergic to anything" He said

"No I'm not allergic to anything" I said he nodded and walked to the kitchen

"Do you want anything to drink?" He asked

"Um water is fine" I said he came back with two glasses of water

"Do you want to watch a movie or anything before I start cooking?" He asked

"Where's your bathroom?" I asked

"When you walk to the hallway it will be the second door on the left" He said I nodded and walked in the direction he pointed out to me but instead I found myself in his room i walked in and looked around for a second before settling on a picture frame he had on his bedside table

It was a family picture that contained his parent and I'm guessing his brother and Oliver sat in the middle of his parents with a big smile on his face

"You know if you wanted to be in my bedroom all you had to do was ask" Oliver said I turned around and he was standing by the doorframe smirking

"Shut up" I said putting the picture back

"We were happy there" He said looking down at the picture

"What happened?" I asked

"Just some stuff" He said walking closer to me I looked up at him

"Do you think they will get in touch with you?" I asked

"I hope so" He said leaning towards me he looked down at my lips and then back up at my eyes I looked down at his lips

"I still have to use the bathroom" I said he leaned closer to my ear

"Of course you do" He whispered in my ear I quickly passed by him and into the bathroom
