School on Monday was interesting. The boys told me to wear my jersey, like the rest of the team would as well, to school. As everyone knows, we won, and the boys wanted to flaunt that. I mean who could blame them?
I walked into school on my crutches and Daniel beside me holding my backpack. By the looks on everyone's faces they had not heard about what had happened during the game.
I got a few high fives from kids I had classes with. The girls who thought I was just there to sleep with the team still side eyed me for simply being friends with their crush.

The rest of the day went on normally, except for gym. Obviously she couldn't participate so she spent her time in the library skimming through books. She eventually settled on John Green's Paper Towns.
By the time she had gotten over halfway through the book the bell rang for her to get to lunch.
And just like the first half of the day. Lunch was normal. Except, Daniel was at her side, arm around her waist keeping her close. They would steal glances from one another often.
Daniel would kiss her cheek before whispering sweet nothings into her ear, easily making her blush. She was surrounded by love and utter happiness. Nothing could change how she was feeling.
Except for the little voice in the back of her head. The little devil that would try to dampen her mood. This won't last long after you go to college. By now it was the end of November and they were about to go on thanksgiving break. Next winter break. And spring break. Then summer, and college.
Was this just a little high school relationship? Was she bound to get her heart broken? Her and Daniel were in the early stages of their relationship. They didn't love each other, at least she didn't think she did. She had never been in love. She didn't think he was either. These hesitant thoughts put a damper on her good mood. No one seemed to notice except for Daniel. He just kissed her cheek and rubbed her side up and down when she said she was fine. But clearly something was up.
Heyyy sorry this is so short. It's a filler to help bc... I'm continuing this story YAAAAY. the original ending was the last soccer game where she hurts herself but it will continue for a bit more. It will be kind of fast though. Like just the bigger parts I have in mind then the ending and the epilogue.
