mj's POV

"bye mom!" I called out from the airport doors.

Daniel and I were now on our way to manchester. it's crazy he was accepted. when we were still together before i moved away i dreamed of him coming but i knew he'd miss the boys.

but now look at him, he's coming with this time.

"So when we get there are there any people i should know about? i know about layla but we drifted sooo?" he looked down at the ground awkwardly as we made our way towards security.

I thought to myself for a moment. layla was my main friend besides some neutral friends in my classes. um the soccer team? ...caden.

with everything going on over here i forgot about caden. well more like what went on between us. i didn't tell daniel i was with anyone after we split. if i don't tell him it happened it'll be awkward and shady if he finds out not through me.

"well um, some guys from the soccer team. my other best friend, caden is on the team." there was a pause before i spoke again.

"He and I are just friends though . but um something did happen a few nights before i left between him and i. but it means nothing to me."

he sighed before turning to face me as we approached the security line.

"you know, it's fine. and i don't need to validate that but we weren't together or in any type of contact so it's not cheating."

wuh? oh um okay he took that better than expected.

"you're not mad at all?" he looked up as he thought for a moment.

"no, if i messed around with some girl i wouldn't want you mad at me. there's no reason to be mad."

"That's um sweet i guess" the air around us was tense, i had made it awkward.

"does caden know i'm coming back? or layla even?"

"layla knows. i was on the phone with her yesterday" we stepped into the scanning area and put our carry-ons onto the belt and took off our shoes. "but i haven't talked to caden since i left so he doesn't"

we stepped through and gathered our things at the end of the belt.

"How long is this flight again? really long?" daniel remarked.

"oh stop you'll be fine" i joked as we approached our gate.

we waited till we had to board, unfortunately, because daniels ticket was a bit last minute, we weren't sitting together. but this gave me some time to think about the caden thing. i'm sure he'll be fine.

he'll have to be fine.

caden and i never talked about what happened between us before i left. we had never really talked about our feelings for eachother. i knew i never felt anything serious for him. it's always been daniel and it might always be daniel.

the flight was long and after thinking about what i was going to do about caden for way too long i napped the rest of the time.

once daniel and i we're off the plane and through the airport I called an uber and headed towards my apartment.

daniel didn't have a place yet so he'd stay with layla and I. not too big of a deal.

the ride was silent, daniel and I sat in the back seat awkwardly but almost half way through the ride i felt something on my pinky, daniel had moved his hand over to touch mine. i didn't want to play games, so i reaches for his hand and held it tightly. i noticed a little smile appeared on his face as he stared out the window.

all i could think about was what caden would think and how he would react. what we did was a mistake and i hope things wouldn't be too weird between us. one can only hope for the best.

HI GUYS! okay so i am SO sorry for leaving you guys. some family problems came up and i had to deal with that. i hope this brings you some quarantine entertainment.

also tHANK YOU FOR 90K! i went to update and i saw that and my jaw dropped that's insane to me. i love you guys so much and i hope to be more consistent with updates but i'm not too sure.
