McKenzies POV
Dear Mom,
I'm sorry for telling you this, but I'm leaving. I'm gonna start over, without you or Joe. I recently came in contact with my step sister and I'm moving in with her and her family.
Two days ago I was released from the hospital. Why, you ask? Because I tried to commit suicide. Surprised? Well don't be, because that fucking prick you married is the main reason behind it.
He abuses me and treats me like crap. Your to blinded by his good looks and intelligence to see what he does to me. When you're gone all he does is drink and hurt me, not always physically, but with words.
I don't know what I ever did wrong to him, but whatever. I guess you don't really care cause you don't give two fucks about me. Don't deny it, cause you know it's true.
Maybe if you didn't marry him we wouldn't be in this situation. If I ever told you he did these things you'd never believe me. So that's why I'm writing this letter and I'm not home. This is not a home. A home is somewhere, where the people actually care about you. They would do anything for you, and in this place it's the exact opposite.
Don't bother calling me because I've changed my number. Don't bother trying to get me because I won't be returning with you especially with this asshole in this place. I don't know what you ever saw in him, but it's out of my reach.
Goodbye,
McKenzie
I folded the piece of paper and addressed it to my Mom. I set it down on my bed and walked out of my room with my suitcases as bags.
I made my way down the stairs, to the doorway, as looked back one more time. There was trash and beer bottles all over the place. It's a mess.
I walked out of the house and made my way to the car where, Julie, Allie, and Calum stood. Allie took my things and put them in the back as I sat down next to Calum in the backseat.
"You ready kiddo?" Julie asked me.
"Yeah." I reply with a big smile on my face. "I'm ready." Which I truly was, I was leaving this hell hole and starting over.
Sine the drive from here to Allies house was a good half an hour Allie plugged her phone in and a familiar tune came on.
"You know that I'm a crazy bitch, I do what I want when I feel like it.
All I wanna do is lose control
You know that I don't give a shit, I do what I want when I feel like it
All I wanna do is lose control.
And that's why I smile, it's been a while, since everything has felt so right."
I sang along to Avril's beautiful voice. She's like a role model. "You like Avril Lavigne?" Allie asked me, seeming shocked.
"Um, who doesn't?" I replied.
"Your right, she's hot." Calum butts in. Causing Julie to laugh and me and Allie groan.
We finally reach my new home after thirty minutes. We get out or the car, unload everything and make our way inside. I've never been here, I wonder what it's like.
We step inside as the house is so welcoming and warm. My house was never like this. Calum and Allie help me bring my things up the stairs to my new room.
"Alright, so this was such a short notice kind of thing. The walls haven't been painted and everything is dull and boring." Allie states.
"It's okay." I says giving her a reassuring smile. We open the door and room is huge, well bigger than my old one.
