"Look", Finn shied away from the creature in the barrel, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "I need your help."
There was a small, thick silence as the Siren regarded him curiously. and then laughed.
"My help", her slender hands clamped down on the edge of the barrel as she raised herself up out of the water, wood grains splintering under her sharp nails. "Is it to do with this love of yours?". He recoiled as she slowly got closer, more and more of her serpentine body being revealed. Her scales seamed to absorb any light that hit it, but also reflected it back like an oil spill. "You must be truly desperate to come to me for help, a creature from the darkest pits of the ocean. A nightmare made real". She smiled wickedly, and his heart skipped a beat at the sharp teeth that filled her small mouth. This creature could kill him with a mere thought, yet here she was, conversing with a pirate with a dilemma.
"Y...yeah", a slender inky brow rose and a smirk twisted her lips as she leaned closer, "But I don't need help with Fontaine-"
"Ah, what a pretty name. Fontane", the Siren hummed, staring at him with her abysmal eyes through thick lashes. It was at that moment, that Smiling Finn realised that he may be in way to over his head.
"Hey! Hey, I need your help. Forget about Fontaine. Focus on me", his mind was swimming in panic as a pain stabbed through his gut. The siren was regarding him with an amused look, but all he could worry about was Fontaine falling into the sea and being swallowed by its nightmares.
Such as the creature casting him a sly, knowing look.
"But of course", she purred wickedly, lowering herself slightly into the water, "and what exactly do you need my help for, if not to help seduce this young love of yours?"
"I..uh", Finn swallowed averting his eyes towards the thick door. When he was sure that no one was within earshot or nearby, he turned back to the Siren who regarded him curiously. "I need your help to get to Fontaine". An amused smile split the creatures face, her eyes twinkling with knowing. "She's in danger. Her whole family is. I need to warn them"
The creature hummed again. "I don't know if you've noticed, Pirate boy, but I am currently trapped, in a barrel, in a metal room, in a pirate ship currently thousands of nautical miles from my home", she sneered at him, causing his heart to pang painfully. "So, I will need something in return for helping you"
"I...I can get you out of here, I would need to anyway, but once I get to the Nektons, you can go", Finn quickly rambled off.
"And what makes you think that I won't escape once I hit the water. You would be powerless to stop me, after all, once I'm in the ocean, I am no longer at your mercy". Finn sighed, admitting defeat. But a pirate is stubborn.
"Well, what is it that you want, I'm sure I could get it for you, somehow". A forlorn look overcame the creatures usually frightening look, and he found ice running up his spine as she seamed to gaze through him.
"Boy", she finally spoke, "What I want, you could never even imagine being able to give me"
Don't mind the sudden change in writing style, I wrote the first two chapters ages ago and never hit publish, but ended up picking this disaster back up and continuing
