Finn launched himself to his feet but was brought crashing down once again as his feet slipped on the water pooled around him. "Ah, if it isn't my favourite Nekton. What are you doing up this late?"
"I could ask you the same thing, though it would be more along the lines of 'What are you doing here Finn?'". Fontane replied warily, eyebrow raised and arms crossed. She hadn't seemed to notice the Siren watching the exchange with vexed interest, or maybe she just wasn't concerned about her, yet.
"Well, for starters, It wasn't my idea to break in via moonpool, nor was it my idea to break in at all. It was hers", Fin gestured vaguely to the hissing siren behind him, pulling his helmet off.
Fontane was quick to dart over to the edge of the pool, emerald eyes misting over as she was quickly enchanted by the Siren. The creature swam slowly closer to the teen ready to topple over the edge, never breaking eye contact.
Finn rushed over, grabbing the girl by the waist and pulling her away from the edge. She was like a dead weight in his arms. "No. No, you can't have Fontane".
The door rushed open, and Ant stepped over the threshold and into the room, rubbing his tired eyes as the two froze, Fontane lazily reaching for the Siren.
"Fontane", the kid wined, blinking back the sleep that weighed down his eyelids. "What's going on-".
As per his sister, the second his eyes fell on the Siren, he was enchanted.
"You can have her brother though". He readjusted his grip on the teen in his arms, who was wriggling slowly as she stared at the Siren who turned her attention to the boy edging slowly closer.
Fontane froze for a second, then launched herself out of his arms, shrieking as she almost flew to the other side of the room. Only managing to slip on the same puddle he had.
Finn quickly caught her wrist before she went swimming with a Siren.
"Well, that was eventful", he laughed, attempting to break the silence between them as he pulled her away from the puddle. Fontane pulled her arm from his grip, instead, turning to her brother.
"Ant! Hey, snap out of it". She rushed to him, yelping as she caught sight of the Siren's long tail. "No. No, I'm still asleep"
"Let him go". Finn sighed, watching as the Siren grumbled, but complied.
The younger Nekton shook his head, no dought confused as to why his sister was pulling him away from the moonpool. It seemed that only then did he catch sight of the Siren. "Is that a Mermaid?"
Finn flinched as she rose out of the water, talons scratching the metal of the floor. A fire burned deeply in the Sirens obsidian eyes. "If one more twittering human mistakes me with one of those foolish things, I will personally see to it that the sea claims your poor soul", She roared, sharp teeth bared as her tail slapped against the walls of the pool, hair plastered to her face and body.
Finn rushed to stand between the Siren and the Nektons, not sure of what he could do, but hoping that he could at least calm the creature down. "Hey, he didn't mean it. Right Ant?"
"I'm sorry"
"See, no need to take it out on the kid, it was an honest mistake", Finn continued, watching as the siren returned to the water, Slinking down until only her eyes were visible above the water.
"We still have a deal, boy".
"Yeah yeah, give me a second, ok?". he didn't wait for her answer before he spun back around to the two Nektons. "Don't mind her. She can be a bit temperamental", as if proving his point, a large splash of seawater rained atop him.
"That's a...a-"
"A siren", Ant finished for his sister, breaking out of her grip and rushing back to the water's edge. "Sorry I called you a mermaid. I can't believe your real. What's your name?"
"Ant", the two teens warned.
"Feyre", the Siren replied, flicking her tail as she rose slightly out of the water. "I see that there is a question burning deep within you, Ant Nekton"
"Can I touch your tail? please. It looks so shiny and smooth". The siren, Feyre, laughed. it was nothing like the maniacal laugh that Finn had heard when he had first woken up. No, this was light, airy, like a warm sea breeze.
She hoisted herself steadily out of the water, her long tail following as she shifted to sit along the edge of the pool.
A loud gasp filled the room, emitted from each of the human inhabitants as they took in the snaking appendage. the transition from torso to tail was smooth and fluid, with scales that ran up her sides, merging flawlessly with her soft skin. The tail itself was possibly six feet long, ending in a soft fin that seamed to go transparent at the edges.
"Wow", Ant was the first to speak, reaching out cautiously, his fingers barely skimming the tail as the other two came closer.
"I truly don't understand your fascination with my tail. It's like a Siren being fascinated by legs. Makes no sence". Feyre sighed. Ant took the chance to pull off his fuzzy socks, wriggling his toes.
"But I thought you guys would be interested in them", he laughed. Fontane mumbled under her breath, crossing her arms once again as Finn regarded the Siren carefully.
"Why would I be fascinated by something that I do not miss"
