Janette's POV:
I was sitting at home cuddled up to Alijaz, watching a film when I got the text from Dianne. I was so confused at first. I showed the message to Ali and asked what I should do about it.
"Go. It's fine, i'll be okay. Dianne obviously needs you so go. Just get back when you can and stay safe okay."
"Yeah absolutely." I got up and kissed Alijaz. "I love you, I'll be back soon." I called back to him as I grabbed a coat and my purse and ran out the door.
I ordered an Uber and waited impatiently as it seemed to take forever to arrive. I kept on messaging Di to reassure her that I was on my way, but she wasn't replying. She wasn't even reading the messages. That's when I knew something was really wrong. Di was famous within our group for never being far away from her phone. Especially during rehearsals. The car eventually turned up. I got in and told the driver to get to the address I gave him quickly.
/skip to arriving at Joe and Dianne's house/
I walked up to the door and pressed my ear up against it before entering. I could hear faint muffled, cries through the door. I knew it was Dianne. I couldn't hear any movement in the house, which seemed to freak me out more. The door was unlocked, I opened it and was sooo not prepared for what I saw.
Sitting on the floor, balling her eyes out was a distraught red head. She was staring into the distance and didn't register me come in. I dropped my bag on the floor, and shut the door behind me before running over to her. I bent down next to her and looked her in the eyes. They were completely blood shot and were practically the same colour as her hair.
"Dianne. It's Janette. What's going on?" She gave me no instant reply. She did however finally look at me, with tears still barrelling down her face. She couldn't speak, understandably. I put my arms round her and pulled her into a tight hug. I stroked her hair gently which seemed to calm her down instantly. She continued to cry into my shoulder, but eventually her tears dried and her breaths became more even. She didn't pull away from the hug yet and I knew she still needed me here.
After about 5 minutes or so, she pulled her head out of my shoulder. Her mascara had run, her cheeks were red and blotchy and she looked tired. She finally spoke to me.
"I'm sorry about this Janette, but I can't be alone right now."
"Why what's happened. Where's Joe?" I asked concerned. I shouldn't have asked the second question. She began to cry gently again. She stopped herself, rubbed the tears off of her face and stood up. Her legs were shaky and she was obviously weak. She slowly made her way over to the sofa and sat down. I went over to the kitchen and grabbed her a handful of tissues and a large glass of water. I handed them to her and then sat down opposite her.
"Di what's going on your scaring me a little bit."
She took a deep breath in and looked up at me.
"This is a long story so just go with it okay." I nodded at her patiently. It was weird seeing Dianne like this, she was usually so bubbly and hyper. Especially when she was with Joe. She began to talk. She had a tear in her eye whilst she told me a very long story about what had happened to both her and Joe within the past 8 months. She told me everything. What Anthony did to her, and then what he did to Joe. The incidents with Danny. The trip to Australia. Her birthday. Eventually she got to what happened today. She told me she was pregnant. I was so happy for her and Joe at that news, but I stayed quiet because I knew there was more to this story. I was right. She continues...
"Then after I told Joe I was pregnant a police officer showed up and they've arrested Joe on suspicion of assault against Anthony. I don't know when he's coming back. I don't know what to think about him. I don't know if I can keep on going."
"Keep on going with what Di?"
"Life." She said simply. My head went into overdrive. I never thought i'd be hearing that tonight. I didn't know what to say. I looked up at Dianne. She gave me a look to say that I didn't have to say anything. I knew that her talking about it all had helped her out. But I still had to say something.
"Dianne you can't give up on life." I said quietly. This got her attention
"Why not. Give me one good reason." She said. Her face was stern and it was like I was looking at someone I'd never met before. It scared me the way she said it. She was broken. She was lost. She needed one thing and one thing only.
"Joe." That's what she needed. The moment I said his name, Dianne looked me in the eyes. And when she did, I could tell she was back. That glint of hope in her eye that I always admired was back, and her personality was beginning to shine through again slightly. She was about to say something, but we were both distracted when the door clicked open.
We both turned our heads to the door, and Dianne got up quickly.
A blood drenched figure walked into the room. The figured looked Dianne in the eye and asked her something.
"Are you okay...?"
