One beer turned into two then three then Tony convinced Shea to drink whiskey, which was a terrible idea, Tony lay curled into her back as Shea sleeps, they'd not done anything, he swears, it's just comfort, not that he hadn't tried, again, she'd laughed and then promptly passed out, so he'd carried her to bed and then passed out next to her, eventually leading to this position. And he's awake, before the sun is up, which means that something woke him. He sits up and glances around, a few pieces of his furniture are floating, he frowns.
"Urm....what the frick frack?" he asks. Shea whimpers and shudders in her sleep and the furniture drops with a thud, she sits up, bolting awake. Tony looks to her, wide eyed. "Shea?" he asks, she looks to him, she frowns and looks around.
"Why am I in your bed?" she asks.
"You passed out...I carried you up here" Shea frowns and looks to the furniture.
"What happened to your furniture?"
"Urm...you did" Shea looks to him. "You did something in your sleep....."
"No, I didn't" Shea throws the covers off of herself and leaves the bed. Tony watches with a frown.
"Shea..." he calls out, she looks to him before rushing out of the room. Tony gets up and grabs a hoodie before following her pulling it on. "Shea" she wraps her arms around herself ahead of him, not looking back as she hurries to her own room. Tony reaches her before she reaches her door and grabs her wrist. "Shea...." she looks to him sadly. "Are you enhanced?" she shakes her head.
"No...not like...the twins...It's complicated..." she tells him. "And you wouldn't understand" she pulls her hands free. "No one ever does..." she sighs. "Can we just...forget this happened?" Tony shakes his head.
"You know I can't...I'm like a dog with a bone..." Shea sighs and looks him in the eyes.
"Then forgive me...." she raises her hand and waves it across his face. "Forget what occurred" Tony blinks and looks around before frowning. Shea is no where to be seen. He looks around the hall and then to himself.
"Sleep walking?" he asks himself and heads back to his room, Shea peeks around the corner and then sighs moving back and resting her head against the wall
................................
Shea pulls her blanket over her head as someone knocks on her bedroom door, she is aware she's overslept, she's also aware that she's ignored her phone, which if they've spoke to Sam about, they know it is unusual.
"Shea" Tony calls knocking on the door. "Are you coming out today, or not?" he sighs and leans on the door getting no answer. "Is it a hangover? Cause I've got these painkillers that work miracles" he knocks again. "Shea?" Shea sighs and throws off her covers before walking to the door.
"It's not a hangover" she tells him.
"She lives!" Tony teases. "So what is it?" he asks. "Do I need to get Bruce?"
"It's just......flu....I'll be fine with some rest and fluids....which I can get...in here....alone"
"I'm going to get Bruce" Tony tells her.
"No" Shea snaps, Tony sighs.
"Is this because I made you drink?" she sighs.
"You didn't make me do anything.....I swear...it's just a bit of flu"
"Well.....then do you need anything?" Shea sighs.
"No....nothing, thank you" Tony nods to himself.
"Just ask Friday if you do"
"Yeah...." Tony taps the door slightly.
"Hope you feel better" he turns and walks away, Shea slides down the door and sets her head on her knees, there is no flu, it's guilt, she hates using her 'gifts', and she hates using them on her friends even more, especially the mind trick, she hates taking away people memories, she hates messing with peoples minds. Shea wraps her arms around her legs and sobs into her knees. Tony actually still stands on the other side of the door, he looks sown and then this time walks away softly.
............................
"Hey, birdbrain" Tony greets walking towards Sam who raises an eyebrow.
"I though Barton was birdbrain"
"Yeah well....whatever....what's Shea's story?" he ask, Sam frowns.
"What do you mean?"
"You know her story....."
"I don't know" Sam answers. "I don't actually know her all that well....she keeps to herself, always has.....I mean yeah, we're friends....but...I don't actually know all that much about her, why?" Sam then smirks. "Do you have a crush on her?" he teases, Tony rolls his eyes.
"No....maybe....anyway....she's not coming out of her room....says she's got flu but...."
"You don't think it's flu?" Tony shakes his head and the rubs it.
"Ow....stupid headache..." he grumbles and walks away.
................................
"Shea, it's Sam" he knocks on her door. "I'm coming in" he opens the door and enters shutting it behind him. Shea is curled up on her bed, dwarfed by her blankets, she peeks out of them, Sam sighs and crawls into bed beside her. "What did you do?" he asks wrapping his arms around her.
"Nothing" she grumbles.
"Uhuh, you know you can talk to me" he tells her softly.
"I made him forget" she whispers, yep, Sam knows. Sam knows everything. Her heritage, her powers, her gifts, her species. And he is vowed to secrecy. "I had an episode in my sleep" Sam sighs.
"Hence why Tony has a headache and you have the guilt flu" Sam rubs her back. "You could tell them....they would understand...." Shea shakes her head.
"You know I can't.....there are rules" Sam sighs but nods. "Can you stay?" she asks. Sam rubs her arm.
"Sure" Shea sets her head on his chest and curls around him.
