Chapter 11: Revelations

Tony knocks on Shea's bedroom door, rather hastily. He wants answers. This woman has been living with them for weeks now, and she's been keeping things from them.

"Shea" he states hearing her on the other side of the door. "Open up"

"No" she argues, he sighs. "You won't....you won't understand" she tells him. "I can't tell you"

"Why? Shea, if you are enhanced" he argues.

"Not in that way" she argues back. "Not like the twins.....not....It's complicated"

"Try me" he begs touching the door, he waits, can practically feel her fighting with herself over this, then the door opens, she sniffles and looks up at him. "Shea" he whispers, she nods and walks back into the room, Tony sighs and follows her shutting the door behind them. She sits on the edge of her bed and Tony stands in front of her, she looks to her lap where she pulls at a thread on her jumper.

"You have to understand something" she starts. "I didn't keep this from you all for vindictive reasons, I kept it from you because.....because I have a code to uphold" she takes a breath and looks to him. "I'm not human" she admits, Tony raises an eyebrow and shifts slightly.

"What are you?" he asks, she sighs.

"A Jedi" she answers. "We're a race from a galaxy far, far away" she admits.

"So how did you end up here?" he asks her.

"My parents" she answers. "They were fleeing, there was a war" she sighs. "A war that has...been raging...well since the beginning of my people. Their ship was damaged and they crashed here, my mother, she was pregnant with my older brother and that's how they ended up here"

"Okay" Tony whispers and sits at her side. "You're an alien" he reaches for her hand and then pulls away again. "Why didn't they go back?"

"They did" Shea answers, Tony looks to her. "When I joined the Air Force, they realised that I was all grown up, and they returned home" he nods.

"And your brother?" he asks.

"He died" she answers. "Car accident when he was 16" Tony takes her hand this time, they both remain silent before Shea sighs. "I'm an Ashla" she tells him. "During the war there are two sides....." she looks to him. "The light, the Ashlas and the dark, the Sith" she stands and moves to her R2 crate, she unlocks the padlock and opens the side of the crate as BB-8 whirls away. "The Ashlas focus on calmness and peace to channel our powers in the Force, using the light side of the Force to serve in the capacity as guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy" she tells him pressing a button on R2, a hologram appears in front of him, Tony stands to look at the image playing out. A clash of the light side and the dark side of the Force.

"You said the Force" Tony states, Shea crosses her arms over her chest.

"Well, the Force is what gives a Jedi their power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and it penetrates us; it binds all the galaxies together....Jedis can feel it, sense it, use it...." Tony looks to her.

"Like you did in the hanger?" he asks, she sighs and nods, holds out her hand, the dresser across the room starts to hover.

"It's a basic jedi power" she answers and sets the dresser down. "And not the first time you've seen me do it" she admits, Tony looks to her, she waves her hand over his face. "Remember" she commands, Tony blinks and frowns before his eyes widen.

"You..."

"I....made you forget.....and I shouldn't have, I hate using that side of my powers, especially on someone I care about, someone I love, but I wasn't ready to tell you, I...." Tony is watching her differently now, he smirks and moves closer to her. "I've only ever told one person before, and I...I'm the only one here...." Tony grabs her face and kisses her. She squeaks a little and frowns as he pulls back.

"You love me?" he asks, she scoffs and rolls her eyes.

"No" she answers, he raises an eyebrow at him. "I didn't...." she pauses, realising she had said that. "Oh" she breaths and looks down, a blush working up to her cheek, Tony smirks and takes her hand tugging her to his chest, lifts her chin.

"What else can you do?" he asks her.

It's Selene that talks first after Tony had persuaded Shea to tell all the others, the vampire has known all along that Shea wasn't human.

"We'll it's about time you told them" Selene states, the others all look to her. "I can smell she's not human" Selene tells them and then looks to Bucky. "I'm surprised you didn't notice"

"Still getting used to the nose, Selene" he points out with a smirk.

"You're all okay with this?" Shea asks, Steve smirks.

"There is a vampire stood across from you, a hybrid at her side, we have two enhanced twins, a great big green rage machine, a man that wears wings, two special agents, a man that dresses in a tin can"

"Hey" Tony complains.

"And on occasion an Asgardian, an alien...." Steve tells her. "We are all okay with this, Shea, you didn't have to hide it, but we all understand why you did...." Shea looks down at her hand clenches in her lap, Tony takes her hand and smiles at her.

Shea takes a breath looking out the windows and over the city view, she feels lighter for having told them. She knows she probably shouldn't have. Her parents did everything they could to hide her and her brother from others of their kind, and telling people who and what she is increases the risk of others finding her.

"You love me, huh?" Tony asks behind her, she looks to his reflection and then hangs her head.

"It's okay" she whispers. "You're Tony Stark....ladies man" he walks towards her and gently turns her to face him, he raises his hand to her face and gently brushes her hair back.

"Yeah, well.....there is this really, really, hot alien girl that can do stuff with her mind....she's got this red hair and these beautiful blue eyes" he wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her closer. "And....yeah, she's worth it, all she has to do is say three little words, and I'd stop" she glances up at him. "I'll be a one woman man for her" she smiles a little and looks down again. "If she wants that" Shea plays with the bottom of his shirt and then takes a steady breath.

"I love you" she tells him, he smiles and kisses her, sliding his hand under the back of her shirt, she smiles and pushes up onto her tiptoes.

"I love you too" he admits pulling back. "Crazy little alien woman"
