Aberdeen, Washington 1987
September 27th
Kurt and Meadow spent the hours listening to music of all kinds, from Elvis Presley to the Beatles to David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen. They were off on a great note considering they basically had the same taste in music.

"You like Sonic Youth?" Kurt asked her out of the blue. She quickly turned down the blaring of Penny Lane to hear what he had to say. "Do I like who?" Kurt smiled at Meadow and asked again. "Do you like Sonic Youth?" "I've never heard of them before, are they good?"

Kurt's face then started beaming with happiness, he was eager to show her every single Sonic Youth song that he was in love with. "Are they good? They're great Meadow. They're one of my favorite bands. They represent realism and that's what I love most about them."
She smiled at Kurt and in a way was almost admiring him in a sense. "I'd love to listen to them then, show me some songs."

The night lingered on with Kurt showing her some of his favorite bands. Meadow liked Sonic Youth and the Sex Pistols, they never got around to any other bands because they were so tired- Meadow ended up laying on Kurt and just having the most simple yet complex conversation she's had in a while. She couldn't explain how she felt, but laying there in Kurt's arms she felt safe.

"Meadow?" Kurt whispered as he stroked her arm up and down with his hand. "Yeah?" "What are some of your hobbies?" She replied, "Well, I like to write little short stories and such, like how people write actual books and stuff. I just write shortened versions of things that may have happened to me throughout the day in a more dramatic way."

Kurt smiled down at her and quickly asked, "You think I could hear some of them? I like to write too, but I mostly just write random lyrics down. It's just what I feel like writing in that moment." Meadow immediately stood up and looked at Kurt with a more than curious look on her face, "You actually care? When I tell people I like writing, they think I'm weird."

Kurt laughed, "Screw them, this whole society that we live in is fucked up already. People are so damn gullible, they'll believe that a squirrel crawled out of a rats' ass if they heard it." The laughter then flowed out, and although Meadow was usually embarrassed by her laugh, today was somewhat different. With Kurt, she felt she could be herself with no apologies. Suddenly she had an "A-ha!" moment.

"Hey, before I read my stories and all that, earlier you said you wrote lyrics? Song lyrics?" Kurt then got extremely shy and quickly replied, "Yeah." He said quietly, "I write song lyrics for my band." "What?" Meadow asked considering only mice would be able to hear Kurt, due to how quiet he got.

"I'm in a band." Meadow jolted up and stared at Kurt with amazement. "You have a band? What kind of music? What do you guys like to sing the most?" Kurt had a somewhat confused look on his face, considering she was asking so many questions and he didn't know where to start.

Meadow then got somewhat hot and looked down in embarrassment at how many questions she was asking and how little time she gave Kurt to answer each one. "I'm sorry, I ramble when I'm excited."

"There's nothing wrong with that, I personally think it's cute." Kurt said looking down smiling, Meadow could tell he was extremely shy, and she didn't mind that at all. In fact that was one of the things she found interesting about him.
