mary pulled on a pair of fluffy socks and treaded out of her room as quietly as possible. the chill of the apartment shivered up her arms, causing her sweatshirt to be pulled tighter around her.
she reached the kitchen successfully, and began to pour herself a glass of water when footsteps behind her made her jump.
"sorry to startle you," a smooth, rich voice comes from behind her, and she spins to face a boy with an incredibly structured jawline. "i don't believe we've met. chuck bass."
his hand reaches across the kitchen counter to her and she looks from it to him a few times.
"hello," mary blinks. "uh- mary. mary o'donnell."
her hand moves to wave awkwardly at chuck, leaving his own hanging. his smirk falters before returning.
"ah, yes. lily's assistant."
"intern," she corrects, placing her empty glass down. "i'm her intern."
"right," he nods, looking up at her with sultry eyes. his lips pulls between his teeth as his eyes dance to her legs. his smirk grows a little at the sight of her bumblebee pyjama bottoms.
"well, night," she smiles, quickly disappearing back up the stairs before he can make another move.
chuck furrows his brows, watching the blonde vanish. strange. intriguing.
