mary looked up from her place on the sofa, to chuck's amused smirk.
"you're so proud of that comment," she giggles, sipping her bottle of cola.
chuck laughs, hands draped over where her legs were propped on his lap.
"well, it's late. and i gotta do paperwork for lily in the morning," mary sighed, hauling herself onto her feet. "night chuck. see you tomorrow."
"mhm," he nods, letting her ruffle his hair affectionately and watching her skip up the stairs.
"what the hell was that?" serena asks from the corner.
"what?" chuck rolls his eyes, expression going stoic again.
"the... ruffle!" serena stifles a laugh.
chuck stands, smoothing out his shirt and picking up his jacket. "i don't know what you mean."
"sure." serena laughs, letting him brush past her. he was turning soft and he didn't even know it.
