"this really isn't my scene," mary sticks close by serena and blair as they travel through the party filled with people.
"you'll be fine," serena rubs her friends shoulder. "make some friends, kiss some guys."
mary rolls her eyes, watching the blonde and brunette walk away.
she quickly found herself in the kitchen, being handed a fancy drink. she takes one sip, screwing her face up.
finding a bottle of beer, she relishes in the familiarity of it. much better.
god knows how many hours later, with her vision blurred and stumbling through a crowd of people, she spots the handsome face by the stairs.
"chuck bass!" she exclaims, throwing her hands up and skips towards him.
"hey beautiful," he smiles, holding her forearms. "you're drunk."
"i am not," she pokes his chest, words slurring together. "i'm irish. i can hold my liquor."
"mhm," he sizes her up, shaking his head. "let's get you to bed."
"there's drunk people in my bed," she whines. "they're hooking up."
her face screws up and she fake gags.
"alright," chuck sighs, scooping an arm around mary's waist and guiding her towards the elevator.
"where're we goin'?" mary asks him, waving bye to the people inside as the doors close.
"back to mine," chuck says, holding her up.
"christ, could've bought me dinner first," she laughs, her accent coming through stronger than ever.
chuck smiles fondly at the irish twinge in her voice, and continues to guide her outside.
"shit," he grumbles. "i gave my driver the night off."
"that's alright," mary shrugs, whistling loudly and waving a hand to call a cab over. chuck groans, rolling his eyes. "come on, rich boy. in we get."
chuck allows her to drag him into the yellow cab, smiling gently when she lays her head on his shoulder and falls to sleep.
never would chuck bass speak of the night he carried mary o'donnell, drunk and passed out, to his apartment and tucked her into bed, sleeping on the couch to respect her privacy.
