It had been about a month since Travis and I had been seeing each other, and things were going okay. We kept it professional at work, I was loving it.

"Mr. Dylan, there's someone in the lobby requesting to speak to you." The receptionist, Savannah said.

Travis had this confused looked on his face. It wasn't like people to just pop up at the job unexpected. I watched him excused himself from the office. I could see Savannah eyeing him down, then she looked back at me.

I gave her that "Don't even try it" look. She caught on quick. Almost twenty minutes later, Travis returned back to the office... He looked pissed.

"Are you okay?" I asked as he breezed past my desk.

"I'll be fine." He kept walking.

There was a lot of uncertainty in his tone, but there was no need to make a scene at work. I waited until we got off to approach him about it again.

The ride home seemed so long as I was stuck in 5'oclock traffic once again. I just wanted to get some sleep, everything was finally catching up to me.

I received a text message from Trina saying it was urgent and she needed me to call her ASAP. I didn't like how that sounded.

"What's wrong Trina?" I said, hooking my phone up to the bluetooth.

Her voice was crack as if she had been crying all day.

"Hello? Trina... Trina what's wrong?"

"The baby didn't make it Rae... I had a miscarriage..." She became hysterical.

My heart dropped to my stomach.

"Fuck!!! I'm on my way over." I sped through traffic to get to her.

I finally got to Trina's place and instantly hugged her. I felt so bad... As much as it surprised her, I knew deep down Trina would be a great mom.

"Trina, I'm so sorry." I said hugging her tightly.

"I was 9 and a half weeks Rae... What did I do to deserve this?" The tears kept flowing.

I was at such a loss for words. Like what could you possibly tell someone to make them feel better about that?

"Maybe God was telling you that you weren't ready..." She sighed.

This was such a drastic and touchy situation, I could only console her. I didn't even want to know what caused it, but knowing Trina... It was stress.

"Well, what's up with you Rae?..."

"What do you mean?" I questioned.

"You got this glow about you..." Trina said staring me up and down.

"Well, I finally hooked up with Travis..."

"Oh goodness. What do you mean hooked up?"

I got silent.

"Bitch, I know you did not fuck him!" Her face was priceless.

I tried so hard not to smirk because I knew how much Trina wasn't feeling the situation.... But, she didn't understand!

"Trina... Trina... Trina..." I sighed.

"That dick hit different! He had me on a high without the drugs.." I couldn't help but replay our sex over and over again.

Trina could only roll her eyes. I understood her point though, she was only looking out for me. But I was a big girl, I was able to hold my own.

"So now what? Y'all work together... That means y'all see each other on the regular. That's not too much?" She went into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water.
