After breakfast, Kelisha went to buy Noah a few items to wear for today. He stayed behind with me and helped me clean up the kitchen. Hey, buddy would you like to help me finish packing up the rest of the house? Ok. Noah said with a sad face. Hey, what's wrong? I miss my mommy he said before he burst out in tears. I scooped him up in my arms and set him on the counter in the kitchen. Listen, Noah, we are going to find your mom as soon as you and I get dressed.

How about we both go get ready now, that way when Kelisha comes back we can be ready to go. What do you say? Noah's little face lit up with excitement. Yeah, can we pretty please. Of course, we can. I'll shower in my bathroom and you can take a bath in the other bathroom. Let me get you set up. I set the bathroom up for Noah and waited for him to get in.

Ring Ring. Hey, Noah, I have to go answer the phone, I'll be back to check in on you. Hello, I said. Babe, can you check to see if my wallet fell out of my purse, please? Kelisha asked me. I don't see your wallet or mines for that matter. I said to her. Ok well, where can it be I heard her saying over and over to herself.  Babe just use the emergency cash in your purse. I have Noah in the tub so I can't stay on the phone for too long.

That's fine, go take care of him and I will pay for the items and be back soon. Ok, see you soon. I said to her. I tossed my phone on the bed and went to check on Noah. I had to admit I was growing fond of Noah even though he didn't belong to me he belonged to my brother Eric. Hey, bud are you holding up in there? I asked him.

Joe, do you think we will find my mom? Noah, I promise you we will find your, mom Even if it takes us all day and night. Ok, he said to me with a sad look on his face. Noah, can I ask you a question? Yes. What do you really know about your mom and dad? I know I had no right asking a child this but I needed to know how to handle this situation. Kelisha and I were new to this whole parenting thing and Kendall wouldn't ever have to worry about that. She had two sets of parents who loved her with everything they had.

Babe, I'm back. Kelisha said. Hey, I have Noah in the tub and I need to get in the shower. Would you mind taking care of him? Of course, I don't mind at all. Noah is it ok if I come to help you? I can wash your hair and back for you. Ok I would like that very much. Kelisha gave me a quick kiss before walking into the bathroom to help Noah out while I went to take my shower. She and I had finished around the same time.  Well since we are all ready I think we should head out.

Ok Kelisha said before she gave me a look that read I pray we find her safe and sound. I grabbed her hand and kissed it right before I kissed her soft lips. Baby look at me I said to her. It's going to be ok I promise you. I knew what was coming next. As if on cue a strong heavy sigh flowed from her. I hope so Joe, for Noah's sake as well as our's. I wrapped my arms around her and walked her to the car. I opened the door for her and Noah.

Driving up and down every street I could think of. While Kelisha never let go of my hand. I looked over at her and saw her pouting a little. I brought that same hand up to my mouth and kissed it softly a few times before letting it go. Looking from the corner of my eye Kelisha had a small smirk on her lips as she ran small circles over the hand I had just kissed. I put on her favorite song Easy, I want you, I need you, I love you, by Elvis Presley and sang it to her.

She looked at me with a bright smile that reached all the way to her eyes this time. Thank you, baby, for making me smile. Any time my love, any time. I love you with all of me. I said to her right before I kissed her pretty mouth as we waited for the traffic light to turn green. Eww, gross a little voice from behind her said. Yucky you guy's kiss a lot. I turned around and looked at him. Does it bother you when I do this? I leaned over and licked her full lips.

Noah covered his face, Joe you are gross, we can't be friends anymore. Oh my, why not? Girls have cooties. He said to me. Oh do we now Kelisha reached back to grab Noah's hand before we all laughed really hard. You see buddy this particular girl right here doesn't have cooties. I said to him. She doesn't? He asked as he cocked his head to the side to fully listen and understand. She or Kendall do not have cooties at all. Just like your mama doesn't have cooties.

I will explain it to you later on when it's just you and I alone. Okay. So are we buddies again? I asked him. He shook his curly head yes and a smile lit across my face. Phew, I said as I started to wipe off fake sweat from my forehead. Kelisha looked at me and shook her head. What am I going to do with you? She asked me. You can just keep loving me the way that you do baby I said right before taking her hand into mine.

SO, Noah, do you have any place in mind that your mom might have gone to? Well, there is a park she use to take me to every other day no matter the weather so I could play and she would meet her friend. I would play and they would sit in a corner with their backs away from me. smoking and talking. We would never stay long just enough for mama to smoke and get tired and it to get dark. We weren't allowed to come to the house during the day she said.  Once we made it to the house mama would sit down and start to do stuff but she'd be so tired she'd fall asleep.

Ok so you remember where the park is at? Kelisha asked him. Yes, it is around the corner from the house and it has a blue and yellow slide with a baseball field next to it. I know which park you are talking about. We headed towards the park that Stacy and I first met the same park I was going to propose to her at as well. When we were together. I am so glad I dodged that bullet. I had the best girl for me right next to me. I just wish my other two girls were here with me right now.

I let a tear fall from my eye and I tried to wipe it away before anyone noticed it. I guess I didn't move fast enough because Kelisha slid her hand over the top of mine and mouthed everything is going to be fine and I love you. Right at that moment is when I was even more sure that I had made the best damn decision ever. How'd I get to be so damn lucky? I said to her. All she did was shrug her shoulder's and say No I'm the lucky one.  We both are.

We pulled up to the park and I got out of the car and walked around to open her door. She proceeded to grab Noah from the backseat. Once out of the car Noah took off running. Kelisha and I had to call his name a few time's for him to wait for us. Noah finally slowed down so we could catch up to him.  Just like Noah had said there she was sitting in a corner getting high. But only this time she was facing Noah.

Noah tried to run to Stacy but I held him back. The poor kid has been through enough as is we don't need any more drama. Kelisha gave me a look that I didn't recognize. I knew all of her looks but this one. What's up baby I whispered in her ear. She has my wallet in her hand. Noah would you mind waiting in the park while Kelisha and I go talk to your mama, please. Okay

We watched as Noah made his way over to the playground area before we made our way towards Stacy and the junkie she was with. Hey Stacy. I said to her. I knew right there she was out of it. I snatched her by her arm and pulled her up off of the ground. Really Sta after all of these years you still keep playing me for a fool. Wow. Hey, Joe and wife was all she could say.

You stole from my wife and home and you left your child at my home. All you have to say is hey Joe and wife. By the way, her name is Kelisha. Make sure you remember it. Come on Joe I was just playing she said right before she started to fall over. I had caught her just in time. I slid her down to the ground and she went into a seizure. Call nine one one now. I screamed out.
