"y/n, hurry up! i'm starving." lauren, your best friend, groans.

"wait a minute!"

"seriously, y/n. how long does it take to get ready?" mary asks putting her hands on her hips.

"calm down, fucking hell." you mumble. "i'm ready." you say standing in font of them with a smile.

"for a girl who was dumped yesterday, you're in an awfully good mood.." mary says.

"yeah, well, don't bring that bastard up again or i won't be in a good mood."

you got dumped yesterday. you were with the guy for a year, and you really loved him. he rang you at about 12 in the afternoon and told you he didn't like you anymore, and that there was someone else he was interested in.

"anyway, you told me to hurry up so lets go." you tell them.

"are you sure you're okay, sweetie?" lauren asks you. "we can just stay in if you want."

"what good will that do? it won't bring him back, and i have to move on." you reply. "anyway, i wanna go out." you give them a fake smile which they think is real.

you and your friends are going to a concert. a led zeppelin concert, one of your favourite bands. you were going to go with your ex boyfriend but that's not gonna happen anymore.

when you all get to the concert there is already lots of people here. you made sure you were early so that you were the first ones, but other people had the same idea.

you have a quite good space. you're near the stage which is great.

"i'll get us all drinks." you say. "what do you want?"

"oh, no, sweetie, i'll get the first round." mary smiles. you nod and thank her.

"i'll have a vodka and lemonade." lauren tells mary.

"can i have jack daniels and coke, please?"

"yeah, that's fine." she walks away.

"are you sure you're okay, y/n?" lauren asks you, seriously.

"i'm fine." you reply without looking at her because then she will know that you're lying.

"no, you're not." she mutters. you look at her and she looks at you. "i know you too well."

"hm."

"i've always hated that guy." she tells you and you chuckle.

"yeah, i know." you giggle. mary comes back with the drinks and the concert soon starts.

you really enjoy yourself as you watch a drunk lauren dance along to the music.

"i'll go get the drinks now." you say. "do you want the same, lauren?"

"uh.. yeah, please."

"mary?"

"i'll have the same as lauren."

"okay." you go over to the bar and you ask for all the drinks. you wait for them and somebody bumps into you.

"oh, sorry, darling." the man says. you turn to him.

"it's fine." you smile at the handsome blonde in front of you.

the bartender gives you the drinks and you get the money out.

"i'll pay." the blonde man says.

"are you sure?" you ask him.

"yeah, of course." he pays for them and you smile again.

"thank you."

"i'm roger." he informs you.

"i'm y/n."

"i'm guessing you're not here alone." he chuckles.

"no, i'm with my two friends." the next song that comes on is your favourite. "i love this one."

"yeah, it's my favourite." he adds. "i have to say you're very pretty."

you feel yourself go red so you look down.

"thank you, roger." you smile to yourself.

"y/n, what is taking so long-" you hear lauren say but she stops speaking when she sees me talking to roger. "oh, hi. i'm y/n's friend." she shakes his hand and he chuckles slightly.

"i'm roger." he tells her. she nods and turns to me.

"he's amazing!" she whisper shouts. you sigh deeply, quite embarrassed. "give me the drinks." she takes hers and mary's drinks. "i'll leave you two alone."

she walks away and you face roger.

"i'm sorry about her." you say. "she's a bit.. weird."

"it's fine." he laughs. "how about we go to dinner tomorrow night?"

"uh.." you think about it. "i've just broken up with a boyfriend, and.. i don't know if i'm ready to start dating."

"that's okay, don't worry about it."

you stand there awkwardly.

"actually, i will go on the date, i really like you." you truthfully say.

"i really like you too." he replies. you beam at him and you both talk about music and life for the rest of the evening.
