"Anytime" Luke watches me from across the table.

I open my menu, to try and distract myself from Luke. All the things jump out at me but, I decide on chicken Parmesan. Luke examines his menu as well.

"Here you go, two waters" the lovely woman sits down two ice-cold glasses in front of each of us.

"Are you two ready to order?" Her eyes flick between both of us.

"Yes" I proceed to tell her what I've chosen and Luke does as well. She nods us off and leaves the table with our menus. I take a sip of my water.

"So, chicken Parmesan?" Luke attempts at conversation.

"Yah, spaghetti for you?"

"Yes"

Why has the air gotten so stiff all of a sudden. It wasn't because I hardly acknowledged his compliment was it? Maybe he was wishing he never said it in the first place.

"Lexi, why aren't you talking?" He nervously plays with the ring on his lip.

"Why aren't you?" I counter.

"Uh...I don't know"

"Okay" I look down.

"Tell me your favorite things" Luke suggests.

"Okay, you have to tell me yours too" I tell him, I don't want to be the only one talking.

"Okay, I'll ask you something and you ask me something, deal?" He adds.

"Deal, you go first though" I take another sip of my drink.

"Okay, what's your favorite color?" He asks the most basic question.

"Gray" I answer.

"Really? Why?" He asks, as if stumped by my answer.

"You only get one question at a time Luke" I smirk.

"Fair" he smirks back.

"My turn then, what's your favorite song?"

"Boulevard of broken dreams by green day" he brushes his hair out of his face.

"Really? I didn't now you liked Green day" now, it's my turn to be stumped. He had seen me wearing my green day t-shirt but, he hadn't said anything about liking the band. We never even talk about our interests. I was glad we were talking about these little things.

"Yes Lexi but, you only get one question at a time" he mocks me and it makes me laugh.

"What's your favorite song" he repeats my question. I contemplate my answer, I loved Green Day but, i wasn't sure if my favorite song was by them.

"My immortal by evanescence" I say.

"I love learning about you Lexi" Luke stares me in the eyes with almost no emotion. And I almost get completely lost in his eyes, his beautiful blue eyes.

"Here's your meals" the waitress walks up and sits our plates down in front of us, breaking our stare.

I amazing smell fills my nostrils and my stomach grumbles slightly. It had been so long since I had had a full meal like this one. I immediately dive into my food, tasting every single bite. The warmth of the food feels so good sliding down my throat.

"Good?" Luke says from his side of the table. I can tell he is as equally hungry as me by the way he is scarfing his food down.

"Amazing" I answer, not wanting to have to stop eating.

"Same" he says.

After Luke and I finish eating, he pays for the meal. I would have split the pay with him but, I left my bag at Calum's place. We walk side-by-side into the chilly day. It's probably about three in the afternoon but, all I want to do is lay down after eating that meal.
