Part 12 - Plans

Levy woke Lucy up at the normal time that morning and told her that her father wished to speak with her. Lucy started to get ready with a huge smile on her face. It has been a week since Lucy and Natsu met at the garden. Since then, they've met nearly every night. They've talked about their whole lives. Lucy told Natsu about her mother and father, about Levy and Mira and other friends, about her writing. She introduced him to all of her spirits and showed him some of her power. Natsu told Lucy about his own parents and grandparents, about the farm and town that he grew up, about how he discovered his powers and built them up.

He even told Lucy about his friend at home named Gray. Natsu didn't call him a friend, but Lucy could tell by the fondness in Natsu's voice when he talked about him. She had said, "wow, you must be really great friends."

Then Natsu had replied, "me, friends with that icy perv? Yeah, right!" Lucy only laughed and told him that she would like to meet Gray one day.

Natsu just stared at her, "no, you wouldn't," he had said, then she replied, "I want to meet everyone close to you." Natsu only blushed and then changed the topic.

Each time they met, they didn't want to leave. Still the most they've done is hold hands and Lucy rest her head on his shoulder. They enjoyed every single moment spent together, though. Lately, Lucy couldn't help but to stare at his lips, the thought of them against hers sent her mind into spirals. Maybe tonight I will kiss him. The thought sent butterflies through her body as she finished getting ready, put her veil up, and left to meet with her father.

As she walked down the hall, she couldn't help but to smile at the memory of last night. Her heart could just burst with joy. Lucy couldn't wait to see Natsu again. She had no doubt that she loved him. It has only been a month and a half since the first time Lucy saw him, but he had her heart completely.

Lucy approached her father's door and was let in by the guards. She took her veil off as soon as the doors closed behind her.

"Hello father!" Lucy said, smiling.

Jude looked down at his desk with whatever he was working on and said, "hello Lucy, I'm glad to see you in such great spirits today. What has you in such a great mood?"

Lucy blushed a little, grateful that her dad wasn't looking at her. "Nothing really. Just happy to see you." It wasn't entirely untrue.

Jude gave his daughter his full attention as he smiled. "Me too. So I talked to Wendy about becoming one of your personal body guards and I intend to give you two more; I already have them in mind and thought that I would share them with you before letting them know."

"I really don't need anybody to protect me, but I understand why you want me to have guards. Who are they?"

"Do you remember that red headed girl from the trials? The one who battled the participants?"

"Of course I do! She is very strong, it's impossible to forget her. I think her name was Erza Scarlet. Is she one of my new bodyguards?"

"Yes! I thought that she would be perfect. She may not be a dragon slayer, but she is stronger than most of the dragon slayers that we have."

"That's great father. And my other guard?"

"I was looking at the new recruits and the one who I think is strongest and best suited for you is Natsu Dragneel. You remember him, right?"

Lucy was so happy that she could burst! A huge smile broke across her face. "Of course I remember him! He was kind of hard to forget. Have you told him and Erza yet?"

"I sent a messenger to Natsu, he should be coming here in about an hour. Erza will be coming right after that. So did I do good in picking your guards?"
